I ran into a similar problem on my 00' F 150, stock connectors don't fit new speakers. Instead of soldering, I bought the adapter for about $1.50 which bridges the stock connector to the new speaker. It's a nice tight fit, and sometimes over time solder can fail. Either way works though, enjoyed the video, will have to check out the rest of them.

I recently bought all 4 speakers for my wife's OBS through Crutchfield & they actually threw in the adapter pig tails. I thought that was pretty neat.

Actually swiss army knives are badass little knives, as long as you buy a Victorinox or Wenger. Helps if you know how to sharpen properly and understand geometry. But yes, 3 way coax speakers are lame.

True! I've had my share of genuine Victorinox knives. Sometimes just a plane blade would do the trick. I did some research before buying my speakers. Independent speakers for each range or 2 way were the way to go.

Nope. The speakers sit pretty flush with the actual door frame. I think I might have 1/4 inch or so before the speaker touches the door panel.

How do you wire extra speakers in it. And where could you put them.

Hawkman 76 So I haven’t done this before but from what I’ve heard. In order to wire more speakers you need a four channel or two channel amp. The back of your head unit has RCA wires for hooking up an amp. Once the amp is hook up to those wires. You then wire your two extra speakers into the speaker/sub ports on the amp. However, if it’s more sound you’re going for the amp usually does that without adding speakers. As far as speaker placement, is your truck a single cab, crew cab, or super crew?

Single cabs can get speakers to be put in the roof they sell a new headliner with 4 spots to put them

hey man just curious....if u upgraded the speaker wire (14 or 16 gauge) would u be able to notice the sound difference...

Shannon Bunch I used the stock wiring. From what I found poking around on the net, large wires doesn't make a difference in sound quality. The only time it does is when you are run speaker wires over 25-30+ feet. Even then bigger is only better to a point.

The strips of speaker insulation came with particular brand of speaker. As for mounting the speaker, the speaker screws straight to the door frame.

804 Bassin They are 6-1/2 inch speakers. Buy your speakers from amazon. They are usually cheaper than a parts store.
