Bro that’s the cleanest sickest t100 I’ve ever seen!! What rain guards are you running? They look sweet.

at the end of the video you were shifting transfercase, was that to show the locked diff with zipties was causing the 4wd light to come on when shifting transfercase ? thanks.

Hello. Can you tell me how many splines there are on the front drive and what other model the front CV joint is suitable for?
@TomCollins-dz1jh2 жыл бұрын
my 4wd light does not come on but the transfercase does engage the front driveshaft but not the axles. is this just transfercase switch problem ? i do not want to drop transfercase for the switch. i want to do this just as you have done and bypass old vaccum hoses. . thanks.

I didn't have to do anything with my front differential, my 4x4 works fine?

Do you know if the front rotors and calipers can be upgraded from a Tundra? I can't find any info on it

Great video, Was there a gasket put on between the flange and axle hub? at 3:12? I noticed the kit doesn't come with one. I'm thinking of doing the swap myself since my truck has torn boots on both axles.
@andrewnota80062 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Good eye, yes there was an oem gasket put back on with the hub. Forgot to film that. Also see a lot of people just use rtv or gasket maker there, so if you have that on hand it works to. its just a lot of scraping and cleanup later when you need to clean the surfaces

What is the benefit of doing this to my T100 if my vacuum driven 4WD shift mechanism isn't broken? I use my T100 for when I need a truck and when the snow gets deep. I don't want to have to get out in the snow to change into and out of 4WD. Mine is a manual which has 4WD low (which I don't use). What happens to that?
@porygon21410 ай бұрын
If you don’t want to get down to lock the hubs, then keep it as it is. Reason I did this to my T100 was because it’s supposed to reduce wear on the CV Axles and to increase fuel economy since the axle isn’t always spinning.

Nice bro. Wish I could do this to mine but sadly got 2wd. Good vid

I bet you could swap it easy down the line. Find a beater 4x4 and steal parts!

Hey man, super happy you started making T100 videos recently. Just bought my fathers 96 4x4 extended cab. Quick question, what type of cap did you look for when searching for one? Does the first gen tundra cap fit the T100?
@andrewnota80062 жыл бұрын
Luckily my brother had a T100 he was parting out and that cap was on it so I didn't really have to hunt around. Not sure on the 1st gen cap fitment but I bet there are forum threads out there with all that figured out

I have heard that the tundra shells are almost identical. That’s what I am searching for now!

We have pick a part junkyards in our town. I watch their websites for when T100s show up, which is about twice a year. Three years ago there was a wrecked green one but the original T100 Leer topper was still in great shape. It is a perfect T100 fit except it is from a 1996 and mine is a 1997 after Toyota changed the shade of green, so the topper is a slightly darker green. Nobody notices but me, maybe because it is a two tone model. It only cost $90 plus tax and included a set of Thule square bar racks. It wasn't light. I needed help getting it out and on to my truck. I believe it makes the truck more aerodynamic and gets 1-2 mpg better depending if the Thule racks are on. Also it makes the truck more balanced in the snow. I put one Thule rack on the cab portion so I have three crossbars spaced about 7' 8" apart for strapping on 8x4 boards/drywall and long objects. The topper in this video goes higher than the cab so that topper wouldn't allow 3 cross bars, so it is really for camping rather than work.

So now the 4wd just never engages?
@andrewnota80062 жыл бұрын
When the hubs are Locked, the 4wd works as normal. You just engage and disengage from inside the cab like you normally would. When its in Free the CV's don't spin at all and, no, 4wd can't engage. This means theres no friction from the CVs on the wheels. In Free mode it lessens drag and in locked mode, it functions as normal. Its a much simpler 4wd system and you don't need to rely on a vacuum system or electronics anymore.
@rubenc78582 жыл бұрын
Can you leave vacuum line and actuaator alone and just replace the hubs?
@andrewnota80062 жыл бұрын
@@rubenc7858 You can leave the lines. but you do need to engage the actuator so you'll have to crack that open and move the fork over and lock it in.
@brandonkenton86762 жыл бұрын
So all you need for the swap is the new hubs ?
@andrewnota80062 жыл бұрын
Parts-wise thats it! Just make sure you've got some zip ties or a hose clamp, gasket maker, and front diff oil to top it off when you're done. In total it cost me $260. Could've been clearer on that part of this. thanks for asking
@zener812 жыл бұрын
@@andrewnota8006 my understanding is if you don't zip tie the actuator, you can still swap the hubs and use the vacuum system to engage the differential, the only difference is you can also leave the hubs unlocked and have a 2 wd low range option.
