It's been awhile since the installation. How is the unit performing. I'm thinking of putting a atoto ultra in my 120 series Prado. I am a bit worried about buying online. Cheers. Ross

Still working fine, I recently bought another newer model Atoto to put into my other car.

does this unit need a data bus to keep the rear camera and wheel controls?
@Bbeavis3 жыл бұрын
It was simply plug and play with the harness adaptor.

I have this exact Atoto Head-Unit but I'm struggling to fit it. I have two issues: The standard mounting brackets in my GT86 are different to your own (Although my 86 has the Touch-And-Go head unit instead of the basic stereo unit). The brackets did go on fine to the Atoto unit, however while everything else fitted fine, the front surround dash plate would not go back into place, as if the Atoto unit was too big and stopping it. Was there anything you had to do to the front plate to make it fit, or is it simply a case of my brackets aren't the correct type and the head unit needs to sit deeper into the slot so the cover plate slots into place? Cheers

Fitment was pretty much as you see in the video. the brackets bolted straight up, and the oem dash trim fit in place but was quite snug, we just needed to glue in place the pieces either side to fill the void left by the wider OEM head unit. Certainly i don't recall having to make any modification at all to the dash trim. You can see in the video how it ends up flush.

@@Bbeavis Hrm okay, maybe it's the brackets I have on my OEM stereo that are causing the issue as they're different to the OEM brackets on your 86 in this video (I'm UK based). For one they only have three screw holes, and only the two top screw holes matched up with anything on the Atoto unit while the bottom screw hole didn't align with anything. Been trying to find those brackets in this video online but I can't for the life of me find them anywhere! Had to order an adaptor facia set of brackets which, hopefully, works. Or it'll be another refunded unit! Annoying haha, but thanks for coming back to me so quickly. If you have any ideas of where I can find those brackets online to buy, feel free to point me in the right direction!

Do you remember what Is the cable adaptors code (or Name)? I can't find them
@Bbeavis3 жыл бұрын
Hey Frederico, they are usually called something like "head unit harness".

Did you experience any improvement in the audio quality with the new HU?

Not really, the speakers are still stock.

Where can I buy the trim for the radio to fill the empty space in the radio?
@Bbeavis4 жыл бұрын
If you search "toyota 86 headunit trim" you will find a local source on ebay/amazon/etc wherever you are located in the world.

I'd be interested to see how stuff like this holds up long term, Australian summers and all.

I've had a similar Headunit (different brand but still Android) in my MX-5 for about 3-4 years without an issue so far.

Hi Mr Beavis :) , will this head unit fit a Toyota Camry -2010 model ?
@Bbeavis4 жыл бұрын
I'm not so sure, I think a camry around that year would have a more complex integrated radio built into the dashboard, a bit harder to change.

you can get a wider unit for a Toyota which is 205 wide by 100 high without the need for the fascia adapter.
@Bbeavis5 жыл бұрын
You certainly can, but there's generally a LOT more standardized double din options out there which makes finding a unit with the right features a whole lot easier.

Flash, but quite cost effective for the features offered.

What harness adapter did you use?
@Bbeavis4 жыл бұрын
Just a generic off the shelf adapter from the car parts store.
