I feel like I could actually do this!!! With no previous experience though, when do you set with glue? If you need to double check that things are level and plumb, do you have enough time to make those adjustments while the glue is drying or do you have to work suuuper quick? 😅
@AtlanticOase4 ай бұрын
@kasparrott, Thank you for you question! You only need to level your first course of block, once that is level all subsequent courses of block will automatically be level. You will have a little bit of time for the glue to dry as well, it does not dry immediately. Feel free to give us a call if you have any additional questions as well! 330.274.8317 x2

How do you deal with overflow if its raining ? Is there an overflow built in Also is this liner fully watertight could be used as a pond for fishes with the correct filtration ? Or is plastic preferred Lastly i have a brick and block planter rear access would be challenging as its against a fence can this setup still be adapted Many thanks
@AtlanticOase Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your inquiry. Overflow from this installation is unlikely, however, you can provide natural overflow in the form of a gap at the point where the liner is trapped under the top course of block work. We do not recommend introducing fish as the small space combined with the constantly falling water within such a confined space would likely cause stress to the fish. Additionally, even with filtration, the need for maintenance will be high. Atlantic-OASE has many options for Water Gardens/Ponds which tend to be a separate project to Formal Spillway installations. Please let us know if you have any additional questions!

Thanks for sharing the video, a question? Can a person, be it a child or an adult, go in and sit and relax there? Could it be dangerous for you to be electrocuted if you touch the water pump with your feet? Thank you and I look forward to your response.

hey guys, i'm interested in doing this for my house. However i would like to add just a couple fish - I'm in the north east and told in order for the fish to survive winter i need to be 3 feet under the ground to avoid freezing water - Is it possible to order a separate liner to accommodate that? has anyone tried this with this feature with you guys yet ?
@AtlanticOase4 ай бұрын
Hi Isaiah! No one has tried it yet (to our knowledge) but that just makes you a pioneer! Yes, you can order custom sized liners. Please allow 6-8 weeks for delivery. As a Northeasterner myself, I'd excavate two feet below grade and set three courses of mortared 8x8x16 cinder block as a base. You would then order a custom flexible liner that's the same length and width, 2' x 4', but 16" + 24" = 40" deep, with the opening for the bulkhead fitting in the same place relative to the top. I'd strongly recommend selecting a black liner, only the fish will show. Everything else would follow the steps in the video. Install the bulkhead fitting first, and make sure it's well-sealed before setting the liner in place. Add 24" of pipe to the downward elbow to create a long-necked handle off the union. Paint the pipe black to disappear it. If you have any questions, feel free to give us a call! Should work pretty well - please send us pics! Good Luck!

@@AtlanticOase Thank you so much for the quick response. I was thinking something similar with the buried cinderblocks. My biggest concern was the liner so thank you for leaving that info above. I've already got the block, going to be capping the wall with limestone coping so it'll be a little bit different but along the same premise size wise and shape to what you did here. Will contact you guys for any further questions and if all goes well, I will get some photos over to you!

@@AtlanticOaseHey guys just wanted to reach out - Where abouts can i find the 1.5 Tee you use here in the video? I checked your website and didn't see anything. I'm piecing the plumbing together as i had a pump and liner already but using your video to order the rest of the needed plumbing that seems to be all i'm missing! Thank you.

Anyway to hide or disguise the black pipe below the water other than ordering the kit with a black flexible basin? I already have a concrete basin. Maybe a rigid catch basin with rocks on top of it? Great kit. Thanks.
@atlanticwatergardens80493 жыл бұрын
Yes, a black liner will help disguise the plumbing inside the basin and yes, a rigid catch basin (one of our Formal Spillway Basins) will keep everything hidden away. That being said if you switch to one of our Formal Spillway Basins the water would be completely enclosed and veering away from how this Project Bundle is set up. If you would like to discuss these options, feel free to call our Customer Service department - 330.274.8317 option 2. Thank you!

So is the water just recycling? Or Can u also connect house water with water line to this fountain ?
@AtlanticOase2 жыл бұрын
Hello, Yes, the water is recycling. It is a self contained system. You only add water as needed from evaporation. If you have any additional questions, please let us know!

I don't see a reason to glue down the blocks unless you have kids that might try climbing on it. The blocks are heavy enough that they should stay put.
@AtlanticOase2 жыл бұрын
Hi MRM! You bet they’re heavy! We set all the blocks for the video without glue, but we tore it down afterwards. We can only recommend that you follow manufacturer’s installation instructions, which call for gluing the blocks. There are a number of advantages besides a lower risk of accident and potential liability. You won’t have to worry about the subsoil shifting and blocks separating, or about block displacement caused by water freezing and expanding in the basin over a cold winter. The cap blocks sitting on the top flap of that slippery PVC liner are actually easy to shift even by just sitting on them. We put extra glue spots in the flap for just that reason. Let us know if you have any additional questions! Thanks!

@@AtlanticOase what's the maximum height that pump can carry up water
@AtlanticOase2 жыл бұрын
@@ajiranantumbwe8760 The pump has a maximum of 15' of total dynamic head. We do not suggest running this 24" Spillway Project Bundle at that height due to water splash, water loss, wind throw and you will not get the amount of water needed to run the Spillway. We suggest installing the Spillway at a maximum of 3' above the basin.

Hi Nick, Are you asking for the shipping weight of the bundle or the fully built weight with the stone, screenings, water, product, etc.? Thank you

@@AtlanticOase the weight of it all put together and assembled.
@AtlanticOase3 жыл бұрын
@@nickl2426 Hi Nick, That's a little difficult to estimate, every block is a little different. You would have to weigh one of the blocks that you are using and multiple it by the number of pieces. For ours we used 212 blocks, but we do not have a weight recorded for each one. I would then add approximately 40 lbs for the product and about 670lbs for the weight of the water (80 gallons x 8.34lbs). I hope this helps with your project.
