Thank you Ron. From a guy in White Rock, British Columbia, Canada. I'm a home-owner with only minimal wiring knowledge. I was using an extension cord with one end cut off, so I could wire the lights to plug in to the wall. The wires on my cord were black, white & green. I had the exact same lights as you, with black, white & red wires. I wasn't sure what to do with all the colors. Thankfully, you made it clear that the red wire was not used. So either was the green wire. Easy, once explained. I cut & capped both. I watched your video before trying anything, and all went well.

Thanks for the upload! I definitely will check this out again when I buy my first set of emergency lights. For some weird reason? I thought it was illegal to install them in a house lol but I figured why when they sale them in Lowe’s and Home Depot ? Like why would it be? I guess cause I’m used to seeing them in public only.

They will pay for themselves the first time you need them, good luck.

@@channelron3593 all you did was connect the battery cable in the back. You didn't connect it to electric power.

Is it possible to just wire one of these to a plug and plug it into a socket, because my school has 2 lights that are wired like that
@channelron359310 ай бұрын
Yes I did a film on that.

So you put the emergency light on the wall only connecting the battery in the back. and not the wires in the emergency box. You connected a wire to a plug that you tied off to nothing. Why no just put the emergency light on the wall without giving it 120amp that's what you did.
@channelron35932 жыл бұрын
Well you need the 120 volt to keep it charged up.
