Thank you, without your video I probably would never know about this system. Saved me from a lot of problems. Update : I had 145 mm distance from the bottom for a Bosch dishwasher and that is not mentioned in the manual. I used the 135 mm holes and everything is fine.

Sensational video! Tip for those who like me have a taller than A point on the little metal measuring thing (ABC..), just make sure your dishwasher is as flush as possible with the countertop and use the highest possible option ("A" in this case), even if your measurement is higher. Worked for me with a Beko dishwasher that was +22mm higher.

Can also confirm that it works on a 148mm offset dishwasher (Ariston / Hotpoint LTF 11M132C). I had to grind the stop blocks on the aluminum railings so it wouldn't catch, but other than that, works great!

The staff at my ikea didn't know it existed. Even though they had 140 in stock. Recommended an alternative of €110 from another reseller. During the kitchen planning nobody mentioned anything about this problem. They only put 'old dishwasher at consumers own risk' in the order confirmation. After I searched the Internet I found out about the sliding hinge. After seeing your video I found the behalpjig hinge at the ikea. Had to Google it because I couldn't find it on the ikea site. Thanks a lot for saving me €60 and making it easy to install.

ikea support told me there was no other solution other than to cut the door down to 720mm to fit a hotpoint dishwasher. Only by luck I came across thr behjalplig hinge , great that a video exists and saves the hour you need to fathom out their awful instruction sheet, thank you

The Behjalplig is a slightly different shape now and it didn't line up with the dishwasher door screws, but we just drilled new holes into the Behjalplig panels and it's worked fine. As below, our dishwasher was also approx 145mm at the bottom but the 135mm holes have worked fine. Thanks again.

Awesome video, gives you so much more confidence than the printed instructions. I just installed this with a Bosch series 4 replacing the Ikea dishwasher that died in our Ikea kitchen. Extra tips would be to emphasize that you need to install the dishwasher 1-2cm deeper when using this as it is a extra layer between the panel and the dishwasher, and also clearer directions on the last step with the two white clips to prevent the door from popping out of the clips on the installed bar at the bottom. Total lifesaver video. Thanks so much!

Hi, personal experience - they don't have it in stock, ie. you can't find it on-line but, to my surprise, they just put it on the inventory list when I was buying a "cabinet" for alternative dishwasher. Just told them I got mine (dishwasher) so they asked if I needed 'the kit', I said 'absolutely' and they just added this to to the order. Got this with all other items I ordered. Part number is 604.923.49 and current version has slightly different parts that go on the dishwasher (seems like cutting costs as they removed good chunks of unnecessary material). Got it all within last 2-3 weeks. Btw, it was IKEA in Poland.

Thank you for making this - without seeing this, I probably wouldn't have even tried to fit the DW door this way! I came across this by accident, having previously had no idea of this solution to the Ikea fitted DW door problem (why don't they tell you?!). I put my kitchen in a couple of years ago and only discovered the problem when fitting the DW door to a Bosch dishwasher - 2 days before Christmas!! I ended up having to cut the door (which meant buying a new fine tooth blade for my table saw!) - it actually doesn't look too bad, but, of course, I know it's a bodge. But that's not the end of the story... My wife decided the DW door was the place to hang the (damp!) kitchen towel - so, a few months later, lo and behold, the finish on the door started to bubble up (Ikea fitted KITCHEN panels are NOT waterproof!!). So, faced with the prospect of having to buy another door (£50!), AND having to cut and fit it again (get it wrong and you've just trashed a 50 quid door!), I did what I suspect we all do in these circumstances - nothing! But, here I am, a year later, being nagged to sort this out (once again just before Christmas!). So, reluctantly, I go on the Ikea website - where I discover I'm not the only person to have this problem, AND there is a solution! But a horribly complicated one - so, once again, thank you for your video. All I have to do now is fork out the £77 (+ delivery!) for a new door and sliding hinge and then summon up the courage to fit it...

Great tutorial, thank you for all the little tips and tricks! I found myself in the situation where the whole kitchen was already built up, everything else was mounted in place and the dishwasher front was stopping the dishwasher from opening all the way up, so I found this video which was really helpful for finding a solution for my problem, but the more recent problem is that Ikea doesn't build or supplies this sliding adapter set anymore, so if you're lucky enough like me you will still br able to find this adapter on eBay or Facebook marketplace, but just a heads up, you won't be able to buy it anymore in Ikea, at least not in Germany. It's quite sad because when planing and buying your Ikea kitchen there are no such warnings or "heads up" that the front won't match other dishwashers other than the ones solyby Ikea, it would have been of great help to have known this before I bought and installed my new kitchen. Once again thank you for your help and good luck with your future projects!

For future users of IKEA Behjalplig sliding hinge :) The way he installed those plastic sliders with rotating wheels is bad in my opinion (11:55). With this way of mounting (as the original IKEA instruction says) the front panel will be sliding down everytime because of weight and you won't be able to adjust it properly. In my case i mounted them opposite than he did. EDIT: And i made some kind of "lock" by screwing small bolt between the adjustment wheel and plastic. Now it is locked in position for sure.

​@@SavaKrstovic, the door doesn't keep the height adjustment you set from the two wheels. The wheels aren't tight enough in their plastic bushings and the weight of the door pushes down on them and slowly turns them back to the lowest adjustment setting.

I'm asking because I'm in situation that I'll need to use this solution because I'm assembling new kitchen and the parts should arrive next Saturday. The Ikea staff member warned me for a possible difficult installation, but viewing your video it all is very clear! The only doubt I have is that the complete Ikea unit is attached to the dish washer with only 2 screws.....Is that sufficient or have you installed more screws? ...At later inspection of our Inventum dish washer I saw that the Ikea unit can be attached with 6 screws fortunately! I’ve got round to fitting mine. Regarding the two side screws on the dishwasher door. That wasn’t sturdy enough for me. The manual seems to skip using the original attachment lugs that the door would usually hang from, I didn’t see you acknowledge it either (when you mentioned nearly bashing the counter with the clamps. I took a punt on attaching the lugs that slot into my door and it’s a lot firmer fitting to the dishwasher now. I can’t see how those two thin screws would last long term. Maybe I missed something.

Very helpful. Wondering if you have the same problem as us with this after 8 months of so of use. Because the two inner verticals are only screwed on half way up the dishwasher door, we are finding that there is too much flex and the door comes away from the dishwasher a little bit with every opening - it’s not damaged yet, but all feels quite cheap. I’m concerned that that is only going to cause real problems over time, and am probably going to make two little U shaped clamps or bends of metal to grip the slider mechanism too the dishwasher itself

That sounds like it could work, it also sounds like the dishwasher may not be screwed in correctly, or may have moved slightly if the door doesn't open smoothly. I have found mine is still ok at the moment.

Usually there's 3 holes on each side of the dishwasher's door to fit a 'normal' kitchen door directly. The dishwasher comes with 6 long screws for that reason. You should try using those holes to secure the sliding mechanism with additional screws. The holes are covered with short screws that you need to remove first, FYI! There's one at the top, one in the middle (which is used by the sliding thingy according to IKEA's manual), and one at the bottom on each side. Pretty stupid that IKEA use only 2 screws! Thanks for the heads-up, BTW! I'm about to purchase one for myself.
