I put new intake gaskets on a LS6 intake and it feels like engine gained compression in a way , better charge of air rolling through ! Yes score now.... if my upper radiator hose didn't blow off the same day fixing stuff oh well lol

So the coolant lines have to be hammered down and shave the bottom ridges??? Just wondering I just bought an ls6 intake for my 98 c5. Just waiting on cam and exhaust before I pull it apart.

put ls6 intake on mine when i did heads/cam swap on my ls1 and broke the oil pressure sensor :( wish i would have watched this first lol

Wouldn't you want to use the new pick up line in the ls6 and take out that piece of the block that gets in the way instead?? That's the way I did mine. Then block the throttle body coolant line delete and it works way better. That's just my opinion.

Did you shave the bottom so you could keep the old coolant crossover tube? When I did mine I changed over to the LS6 style valley cover with the better oil separator, and LS6 style block offs in the rear and front vent pipe. I always wondered if there was a way to keep the crossover tube because I think must have designed it that way for a reason and it probably cools better.

chev202 new truck intake is same as tbss intake and works much better. easy to find complete for under $100 in any junkyard

oldpiloti C7 The stock intake is the best for for oem options. but of course a fast intake can make more power..but for a Yukon the stock truck intake is best.

Christian notw, yup much quicker and safer. Basically no chance of going too deep with a chisel. just angle it as horizontal as you can and tap it. will take off the entire length in 1 strip

on a 99 T/A. word of advice, a ratcheting wrench is your best friend for the back 4 intake bolts, space doesnt really allow room for a socket or much in the way of turning...and a good set of gloves, the plastic under the cowl is razor sharp

oh, and you dont have to disconnect the fuel line. you can pop the injectors out and transfer everything to the new intake with the line attached. you just have to do it in the engine bay
