Brian, you would have cracked up watching us coordinate that pointing! It was like a synchronized ballet, and took at least a dozen takes (and it's still not 100% perfect). We should make a blooper reel, complete with the laughing. lol Love that you noticed.

Thanks for the instruction, good,clearly video,still think twice before drill on our brand new class A motor home 🤔, if so how long does it take to order ? We are thinking to order few of this to cover 4 Windows .

+Lien Dang Unfortunately, A&E does not sell retail, so you have to order from an authorized dealer. We knew a few weeks ahead that we were going to be in Quartzsite for a bit, so we called a dealer there and ordered over the phone. The awning was waiting for us when we arrived, and we installed it out in the desert (which is where this video was shot). You'd have to call an RV shop or dealer that sells your brand of awning in the area you want to get it to find out lead times. You'll also need to let them know the size, fabric color and hardware color.

Hi Jack! Thanks for the lovely comments. You just made our day. 😊 We have changed our techniques and gear a LOT since this video was shot back in 2014. When we do a VO video (voiceover) like this one, as opposed to appearing on camera, we do usually use a script. As far as camera and microphone choices, we have a great suggestion for the mic - a Blue Yeti, which is not expensive at all, and our very favorite, which we use to this day (although we didn't have it yet back in 2014). This is the exact one we use: amzn.to/3kf95Fj As far as a camera, it's hard to go wrong these days, since just about every modern smartphone shoots in 4K, which is higher than you need for KZbin. If you're looking for a dedicated camcorder that has fantastic color, rock-solid image stabilization, and is drop-dead easy to use, our favorite model we've used over the years is the Sony AX53: amzn.to/3kf95Fj It's not cheap, but we sure loved ours. The only reason we replaced it was because we had to shoot on an even higher level for The RVers TV show. That requires equipment costing about four to five times as much! Hope this helps.

Great video! Thank you. We're considering adding an awning to Casita Travel Trailer and wondered whether or not affixing the awning guide rail with screws into the fiberglass is the best option or if we should use pop-rivets or some kind of adhesive....what would you recommend? Thank you!

Hi Alex. We get why you're asking... screwing into the fiberglass definitely gave us pause, too. We considered using pop rivets, but since the two other awnings (that came from the factory) were installed using screws, we figured we'd follow suit (Newmar's been doing this longer than we have, LOL!). We were also concerned that an adhesive (even one as strong as VHB tape) wouldn't hold up to all of the sun, heat, rain, cold and vibration of life on an RV sidewall. With the putty tape in place, we feel confident that we're not likely to get a leak... and the screws are holding up great.

My pull down straps are weathered and the loop to pull on severed how do i take strap off to get it replaced?

RVgeeks I opened awning and it will slide to end but the cap on the end needs to come off and it has a rivet in it. I was wondering if I took the rivet out and slid the cap off if I would lose the spring tension. Please advise

Gary Mjoness Hmmmm. There should be an opening on one end of the track (or the other) where the strap just slides right out through a little notch in the end cap. Do you have an A&E / Dometic or a Carefree of Colorado?

Can anyone help me make a decision on a purchase of a Car Dolly's. I'm wanting to purchase something that will stand up long term (steel vs aluminum), steerable, collapsible, electric vs surge brakes and weight conscience. I've not owned one in the past but plan on hitting the road soon, taking along my 55 MPG VW JETTA. I need help making a final decision. Please give me your thoughts. Al

We have the same awning, even the same color,, the only problem we have had is the pull straps don`t last very long,, replaced but the new ones were even worst,, or should I say the plastic bracket that the straps hook to,, we gave up and made new ones out of brass problem solved,, the company must know the plastis don`t last ,, Sorry about the people who must depend on RV repair shops , just one more thing the RV companys could do to make A more carefree life style,,
