Quick video on how I Installed the Samsung 860 Evo into the Denon Prime 4. Just a quick installation and how it shows on the Denon Prime Engine.

I would recommend you rather format in ExFat as Fat32 has a file size limit of 4gb. Engine Prime with a large music collection will create a p.db (database file) than can exceed 4gb. Then EP will no longer be able to add more music to the database.

Still proud of Denon tho and will allways support them

Denon just released a video on how to install an SSD and you can format the SSD right from the Prime 4 on your desktop and don't need to do it ahead of time. Wish I would of known that earlier.

The samsung one I used in this video are my favorite for these devices but any fast 1tb minimum size would be fine for the SSD Sata

I installed and formatted my ssd properly but, the drive is coming up on my computer as some audio usb. Not as a hd. Not sure what the issue is.
@JoePhame2 ай бұрын
That is strange, did you format as exfat?
@jeffgates19062 ай бұрын
@@JoePhame I fixed it. Yes, it was formatted properly. Apparently, I had to assign a drive letter to make it come up. Who knew?

Thanks for the video Joe. My engine prime does not recognize my internal ssd. I format the ssd in exfat and fat32 but neither one of the 2 options it worked for me. My SC6000 does not recognize the ssd. Where is the problem? The brand of the ssd? Is a kingstone. Should I use other brand like samsung or sandisk? Would appreciate if you can help me. Manu thanks.

Quick question. Do you know if you can add tracks to the internal harddrive without taking it out of the Prime 4?
@TeleporterM115 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can but you have to hook it up to your computer via the USB cord. You can’t just add music from one disk or jump drive to the other on the unit; they say it’s against copyright laws. Everyone wanted to be able to just take the portable drive music and add to the internal buts it’s illegal.
@JoePhame5 жыл бұрын
yes you can and that will be my next video
@TeleporterM115 жыл бұрын
You can load up all your music by dragging and dropping them onto the SSD that you intend to install but you have to have a external hard drive adapter that you use with the PC before you install the SSD. That’s the approach that I may take. I already have a hard driver reader adapter that reads a lot of different types of disks.
@mrmeza785 жыл бұрын
@@TeleporterM11just to be sure. Even after you installed the internal harddrive in the prime 4 unit and you have some new tracks you want to add on, you can do that without taking out of the Prime 4 and having to put it back in? Thanks for the reply.
@TeleporterM115 жыл бұрын
Jesse Meza Yes you have to attach it to the computer each time you want to add more music to the internal SSD drive. It has to be put I think into a special mode for the computer to read it as a external hard drive. I haven’t done anything with my hard drive ideas for the Prime 4 yet, but I suggest you watch all the available KZbin videos, just go directly to their channel.

Is the anyway to get a flash drive with music tracks already loaded as i i brought Prime 4 but i don't currently have any music to get the system started
@JoePhame4 жыл бұрын
@@MrSoulcinema7 You can always look on craiglist or your local market place and some people will sell music preloaded on flash drives for djs. There also online references where you can buy them as well. If you need to practice you can always sign up for the tidal trial and stream music that way. So many ways to get music now.

It all depends on how much music you have or plan on having. Unless you plan on using tidal mostly i would recommend at least 500gb SSD.
