Hello Andy! I’ve seen many of your videos on KZbin and you seem to be the expert on Corian and Undermount sinks. Currently I have a Corian countertop and Undermount Corian sink. I would like to remove that sink and replace it with a much larger stainless steel sink. I am planning on making a template and using a router to cut the opening for the new sink. However, I do not know how to remove the old sink. The main problem is that the flange from the old sink is slightly larger than the opening for the new sink, and it seems to be glued to the underside of the Corian. I am an extremely skilled carpenter with plenty of years of fabrication experience, so I feel like I can handle this, I’m just unfamiliar with the material (strengths and weaknesses.)

You are going to need a winged cutter and set it right below the underside of the material. Go all the way around the sink and it will come off. You will need a way to hold the sink so it doesn't fall to the floor.

What do you mean when you say use a 1/4” drill (I assume diamond bit) with a collar? Where do I get this collar fixture for the bit to ensure it only drills the specified depth?

Use a regular drill bit with a collar. You can get these at the hardware store or Amazon.

Cut the sink free from the countertop and then break the sink apart.

Sure, just drill a new hole and tap in the brass insert. Then you can attach a new clip.

I've used them for 30 years and they worth great. Give them a try. Once the screw goes in, it makes it almost impossible to pull out.

It's a setting tool that you can buy at McMaster Carr. The other is just a drill bit with a collar.

And can you please put a link or describe what kind of bit you did use to drill the holes, please. Im aa technician and only use bits on my makita angle grinder, I've never used diamond bit in my drilll. 1 Also, do you think this is the best method to mount a sink? I'm wondering because I've used steel strapping from Gable to Gable under the sinks for years and it seems much easier and works great. I have a client that is asking to have hold drilled in their countertop 4 clips. But I like to think that using the steel strapping under the sink is just as good of a way to secure it.
