That’s awesome that you show the correct way how to bench bleed a master cylinder. All new master cylinders should be on the bench like this to get the air out. People don’t understand that their brake pedal probably does not push the rod all the way into the master cylinder and you will definitely have air in the system. This is the best way. Great video

So what do they brake like without a booster? I've got your ifs for my vh with the 4 pot willwoods ly6 turbo
@CastlemaineRodShop197611 ай бұрын
They stop great, they will give you a firm pedal feel mate.

What about being legal without the booster.
@stevenkirk256311 ай бұрын
It’s not. Why doesn’t come with a small booster with a vacuum pump.

This is completely up to your engineer. they don't come with a Engineers report but plenty of people have these in cars with a full engineers report.

What do these stop like?
@CastlemaineRodShop197611 ай бұрын
It all comes down to what combo you have. If its a standard engine and brake combo then it will be Harder than most people like. If you have a big cam etc then the booster isn't doing much to begin with, that's when these work great.

My master cylinder bleeds up fine just like in the video, but once it is connected to the proportioning valve it won't push through it.
@CastlemaineRodShop197611 ай бұрын
Have you adjusted the Pro valve?

@@CastlemaineRodShop1976 I did try but I was under the impression it didn't matter where it was set for bleeding. I rage quit on it haha, I will have another go on monday.

Bit of a hard question but what do they feel like compared to boosted system? Currently running Vt front callipers and standard disc rear in Vh commodore with standard Vh master and booster.

Keep what you’ve got buddy. Willwood is like driving an eh holden.
@CastlemaineRodShop197611 ай бұрын
They don't have that soft spot at the start of the pedal like a booster But they do work fine. But you could also look in to the VS - VT Booster - Master upgrade as well.

Where's the road test part of this video? Did he die? It'd be good to actually see an outcome for all work

Needs a wheels alignment mate. We will be doing a bit of a build clip soon.
@gazza11611 ай бұрын
should just reverse bleed if it discs front and back
@CastlemaineRodShop197611 ай бұрын
Nope, these Master cylinders need to be done as shown.

Would be nice if you could even purchase these things...bought a big brake kit (which is on) only to be told you cant buy the master cylinder anymore. Pisses me off this shit. Next thing on wilwwods should do list, is provide softer brake pad options so they dont squeel like bitches on lighter brake loads.
@CastlemaineRodShop197611 ай бұрын
Who told you you can't buy them? Sometimes we are out of stock with the 7/8" Masters but if that's the case, we will have already ordered them from Wilwood. So you may be told about a back order but thats about it mate.

@@CastlemaineRodShop1976 My bad for a friday night reply...should know better lol. But my mechanic told me that I cant get these for a VX commodore as they are not made anymore.
