@Colesefff Жыл бұрын
Honestly for a laptop I’d go with an external HDD. They’re more expensive but they’ll usually have a better processor and you won’t run the risk of losing the data when you unplug.
@frankenstein3163 Жыл бұрын
@@Colesefff I only ask because I heard the power blocks that external uses go bad and are badly rated for the hdd causing them to fail/corrupts data sooner. I have gone thrue a lot of them from finless to fan cases. Or I'm just unlucky and are surrounded by emp's(most likely) I'm thinking I'll just tap into the power of the laptops cd/dvd port for the 12v. @Colesefff Жыл бұрын
Could be a bad HDD or the cables are not connected all the way. Power down your PC and check the power connection cable going into the motherboardBoard and check it going into the HDD. 99% of the time the issue is the cable isn’t connected all the way. If they are then you’re right just get a new HDD because most likely you got a bad one.

Hi, when you slide the HDD into it's bay at the bottom of the case, it doesn't need to be secured with screws to its sides? I have the same type of case and I'm confused if I should secure it with screws or not. If yes, how do I secure it? I prefer just to slide it in and leave it like that. But is that the safe way? Can I just slide it in and leave it like that? Thanks for your help.
@Colesefff2 ай бұрын
You should be able to leave it there, there are lips in the bay that will prevent it from falling down and once you slide the cover on it shouldn’t be able to move around too much. Just be careful if you’re moving your PC

I know I still have games stored on the harddrive but if i were to format it on my pc, it will erase everything correct?

Sea gate Barracuda works great. 2 TB storage at 7200 RPM works wonderfully for me, I have multiple games on it and haven’t noticed any latency. Is it only recognizing your Disk 1 and nothing else? Could be a few things, check the connections to the Hard Drive via the SATA data and the SATA power cables first. If both are in correctly and you heard the click in for both and they are both plugged into the motherboard on the opposite ends, it could be a cable issue where you may need to get new cables. Last option may be a faulty Hard Drive and returning for a new one might be a good last option. I'd first just check everything to make sure all ports are secure into the Hard Drive and Motherboard.

Can you do this with a drive that already has data on it? From what I'm seeing it should be ok, but I figured I'd ask anyway, thanks!
@Colesefff2 жыл бұрын
I don’t see why not! Are you looking to use the data on that drive on your new PC?

@@Shakezo_727 should be fine! From what I’ve read partitioning and installing won’t delete the content already existing on the HDD

Is there any hdd with led??
@Colesefff2 жыл бұрын
I believe there are a few external Hard Drives with LED but typically you wouldn’t need LED on an HDD because most HDD bays is below the visible part of the PC

What kind of PC do you have and what are you referring to that you don’t have? The SATA ports or the hard drive bay?

I followed every step of the video but when looking at disk management nothing except my existing drive shows up, does someone know what could be a reason for that

When I installed mine and later that day my pc got laggy?
@Colesefff2 жыл бұрын
I don’t think that should be the reason for any lag, try it out for a few days and see if it’s still laggy.
