Important/Tip: When you flash the sd card, and are trying to transfer games via wifi/eithernet you will be prompted to input username and password. When flashing you erase all existing pass or users so by default it becomes. username: *pi* password: *raspberry*

Funny, I just found my old 3b in the back of a drawer and started doing this also for a little project. Got it stuck to the back of a tv pulling power from a usb, with a wireless controller. Nice clean little system.

I just got a kit from Amazon and Etcher kept complaining that it couldn't verify the SD card (after about a 5 minute process) - THANKFULLY, I've watched many of your videos and remembered SD Card Formatter. Once I formatted the SD Card, Etcher did its thing without complaint. You might want to put this in your show notes so it can save someone else some frustration.

If anyone else is experiencing the same issue still, I used a program called Rufus. Generally used for linux distro burning to usb, but works for RetroPie to SD card as well. Give it a go, Download Rufus usb, select the drive and your RetroPie image. Accept all the warnings (partitioning etc). Rufus will automatically repartition the SD card and burn the image. Once ready, a green bar will appear at the bottom stating "READY" and you're good to go. Hope this helps someone out.

FYI for anyone else attempting this: Windows will automatically format any SD Card larger than 32GB to exFAT, which cannot be read by the Raspberry Pi. The Raspberry Pi requires the SD Card to be formatted to FAT32 so it can be read properly. @@kurbii5216 an sd card reader will work! You should be plugging in the micro sd card (that you want to use with your raspberry pi) into the sd card adapter. When u plug the sd card adapter into your computer, it will show up as an external storage device.

You can also install the Manager program. It lets you log in to your RetroPie using a browser, and you can check the stats, transfer rom/bios files, etc.

Yeah, looks like you also need an adapter to get the image on the sd card. I guess people just assume you already know you will need this before ordering stuff. I see you mention it @3:14. Donkey Kong is only a two-direction game, for one thing. Double check your inputs in the RetroArch settings.

You definitely can but I wouldn't suggest it - better and safer to do it yourself cause u won't lose money - but if you wanna risk it Ebay always a choice - just search up something like 'Raspberry Pi RetroPie SD Card games' u should find it pretty easy Hope this helps :)

Hi, I was wondering if someone could give me some advice? I have 3 different Micro SD cards 16gb, 32gb, and 64GB. When I format to fat32, all 3 show as 64GB after I’ve flashed pre built pi images. Is there any reason that springs to mind why this might be happening? I’m using fully updated windows 8.1, Odd part is, the imaages still work. But would like to eradicate this from happening if possible.
