I have OnePlus 9 too, you did a wrong way .. If you don't unlock the boot loader using a fast boot .. 100% Your OnePlus 9 will brick. Use MSM tool to recover your device back to normal. I clearly mentioned in the video , unlocked boot loader is must.

Your Current Android will be on a safer side it wont be deleted. The new android will be installed on a separate partition. Please make sure you have backed up all the important data before you try anything. Also your device must have an unlocked boot loader otherwise you may end up with boot loop.
