Always put Aeroshell 64 grease on the threads before install.. Torque the castle nut to 38-40 foot pounds and stake in two spots..Best to use a jig or vice to keep the buffer tube (receiver extension) square to the receiver..

This was a fix for me. First build and I am highly trained by youtube. I followed a video and things went really good till the end. I did not understand the Buffer Tube and the detent pin. The video made out like the pin was to lock the Buffer Tube. While it does but that is not what it is for. It holds the buffer spring in. Anyway, my rifle did not want to close and would click if you pushed it down. the last 1/16 of an inch to lock. I watched this video, and your tube does not stick out at all. So, I backed mine off one turn and sure enough that was the problem. Thank you very much for this life saving video. There is a post saying the guy ground it off with a Dremel.

Nicee. Thanks for the video. I am building an M4E1 as well! Mine will be .300 blackout though. My first AR in 5.56 i bought already assembled. This M4E1 will be my first build. Still deciding how much of upper I am going to put together. I noticed just about all complete uppers rely on a set screwed gas block but i would like a pinned one. I lack a drill press to do it on my own though. Ballistic Advantage sells a barrel that has a pre-drilled gas block with a pin included but if I go that route I will have to buy everything separate... Aero doesn't sell just uppers with a handguard attached.
@1stShotTactical
@1stShotTactical Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment! And you can buy complete uppers from Aero, check out the website AIMsurplus they have them. But I’m not sure if they have any in 300blackout so that might be an issue. Let me know how it goes!🙌

I’m running into the same thing. I got a Faxon barrel with no dimple but I’m going with the superlative arms gas block in a clamp style. The clamp styles with some blue loctite shouldn’t budge
@themightycrixus1131
@themightycrixus1131 Жыл бұрын
@@taylor315 i found that Ballistic Advantage sells an enhanced(same as the M4E1) complete upper with the pinned gas block on their website. Aero gets all their parts from Ballistic Advantage so it will be the same except for logos. Its called the Hanson barrel. Check it out man. While I was at the range last time I got to a cumulative of about 800-900 rounds on my 5.56 the set screws came out of my gas block and the block worked loose making my AR a bolt action rifle. I don't want that to happen with my next rifle ever. Yes my barrel was dimpled too. I put new set screws in and loctited them after realigning the gas block. Not a great experience. That is not the type of malfunction you can fix in the field

He installed it in the first lower video but for most other builds you’ll have to stop before threading down your castle nut and install that take pin and spring. I was wondering the same thing until I saw his message pop up in the video when he gets to that point. Hope that helps someone out there.

@MsPatriotfront
@MsPatriotfront 5 ай бұрын
You shouldn't post a video "teaching" people to do this when you don't know how to do it. You fail to apply anti-galling grease to the buffer tube. And If you go off camera to do the most important steps then what's the point of this? "Nice and tight" or "a little more torque" is a NO-GO. This is not a superfluous detail. Also, describing staking in the abstract is not helping anyone. Do the community ( and yourself) a favor and delete this pablum.
