Thanks for the install guide. Just bought a refurbished Pixelbook Go to mess around with and it's proving to be an incredible little laptop with even LumaFusion video editing and now Audacity. I feel like I'm gonna find tonnes more via Linux functionality now.

Couple of things... Since the update linux setup is now under about Chromebook under settings. To paste the following commands after copying them, do a two finger click or right click your mouse in the linux terminal window. 1. sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade -y 2. sudo apt-get install audacity Even though we can install it using this method, it doesn't actually work because there is no way of accessing your downloads folder.

You can add files to the linux folder and they will save back to the linux folder when you save your files. The above method still works on version Version 129.0.6668.112 (Official Build) (64-bit)

So even though I have storage space available (I double checked before installing) it’s telling me there’s and error installing Linux and that it failed due to lack of storage space. Any thoughts on how to troubleshoot?

The new UI is a bit different. I would check setting under about and scroll down or search for linux in the launcher.

Thank you for the fool-proof insatll guide. I have now installed Audacity 3.2.4 on my new Lenovo Slim 3. I have set Linux to recognised my external mic (Tonor Q9). Everything is good to go except the mic recording level is stuck on 100%. I don't think it's a mic problem as switching to the internal mic makes no difference. Is this a bug in 3.2.4 or am I missing something important?

oops, Audacity opened up normally enough (after creating space by deleting an unneeded user) but a when started to access the program (I am very familiar with Audacity from a Windows 10 PC) it froze and closing a re-opening it now is an endless loop of circling to reopen it. How can I delete the app now?

You probably need to enable the microphone for linux. Hopefully that will help.
