Here's a written description of the best path: The camera cable goes from the car stereo, down through the center console, under the carpet, along the power wire harness to the battery, which leads to the rear of the car. There's a hole with a rubber grommet next to the tail light that the camera cable runs through, then down and over to the license plate area.

FYI ground wire isn’t required to power backup camera just plug in power to taillight and it works great tutorial tho came in handy for my 2006 Chevy cobalt radio upgrade thanks!!!

So did you splice the red camera wire into one of the tailight wires and that’s it? And if so which wire?

@@zeebstastic so you just took the tailight out and got the bright green or dark green cable and spliced it into the red cable on the dash cam and it worked that easy?

@@EleeBot yep that’s all no ground was required as video cable has built in ground just spliced the red power cable into my dark green passenger tailgate cable simple as that no issues since
