YT wants you to verify that your channel is legitimate before you can add links to desc, pin comments, etc. iirc you can show valid documents, record a short video of yourself (faster options), or build up your channel (very slow, I'm still in the process of doing this). I wish I could install Cryptid, it looks like so much fun to play, but I can't get Lovely. Specifically windows defender deletes it as soon as it's downloaded. I've turned off real time protection, tamper proof protection, and cloud served protection, but it still deletes it. I've turned it off in the registry, but it still deletes it. I've disabled it in powershell and it still deletes it. I don't think anyone can help me anymore. And yes, I've marked my balatro folder and my downloads folder as exceptions in defender. That being said, can you make a steam deck install video? I might be able to get it work through there through extremely convoluted means.

go into windows defender, go to protection history or whatever, and you should see that windows defender isolated it or whatever (don't use windows forgot the wording), hit allow and it should release it, go back and it should be where you downloaded it

@Renni-kg6vf thanks for the advice, but when I go into protection history and filter for quarantined or removed items it comes up with nothing. I've had problems like this since Kaspersky improperly uninstalled itself and random bits of it are still hiding in three corners of my pc.

@@cdbidz4550 It's safe, near anything that acts as an injector gets classified as such as it's code that can edit how a program runs. Lovely's well known enough as the code itself is completely public.

That's because it technically is a virus. It injects code into balatro in order to allow for mods to be ran. However that means that antivirusws will log it as a trojan

after pasting the varsion.dll file into balatro category, balatro doesn't launch until I delete it. It looks like it's opening for like 2 seconds after I click launch on steam, only for nothing to happen and the launch button to turn green again. I was having the same problem you were having, all you need to do is put the Cryptid, Steamodded and Talisman folders into the mods folder instead of the lovely folder and it loaded up for me no problem.

Thank you for the tutorial. While I do doubt it's malware, I put it through VirusTotal anyway and it got 36/69 positives. Is this high enough so that it's possibly malware, or is a medium detection rate normal? The only big antivirus which didn't detect it was Kaspersky, by the way.

It technically does the same things as malware, which is necessary to load mods. If you’re still scared, you can look at all of the code, which is open source

after installing lovely balatro refuses to launch, turned off my anti virus, whitelisted version.dll, reinstalling balatro doesnt help, nor does verifying integrity files... edit: nevermind, figured it out seemingly. I had to run the antivirus scanner then manually mark the file as being trusted, then turn live protection on and off again and THEN reinstall the version.dll file
