Whats a good trick to remove the anchors from the bar ? I unthreaded the mirrors but the anchors are still stuck in there.

try to remove the bar end side mirror and its alen bolt reinsert it a little just hold on to the remaining anchor and use a needle nose to hold the alen bolt on the head, then gently tap the needle nose away from the end bar so it doesn't get scratched. hope it helps.. ride safe

Because it doesn't matter. The grips don't affect the installation what so ever. They just used handlebars for demonstration.

So my anchors on the screw are REALLY hard to tighten is that normal. Like, gotta put gloves on to get a good grip and twist it like a mother

Hey guys my bars aren't hollow, they are filled with rubber with a threaded screw hole for my bar weight caps. How do I get the rubber out ?

If this is the case where the previous owner had a different type of bar end mirror installed with the setup you just described, you can use needlenose pliers. Insert one of the pliers' jaws into the threaded hole, and jam the other jaw between the outside of the rubber gasket and the inside of the bar. It will take maybe 10 pulls (you need to grip it good, and pull it out bit by bit). After each pull the pliers will slip off, but the gasket should come loose bit by bit; every time you should be able to jam the jaw further and further between the gasket and the inside of the bar. Hope this helps, it worked for me. Try not to pull your bike off the stand if you're doing this on the right-side handlebar.

Just picked up these mirrors and 7/8 Renthol (Ultra Low) Handlebar for my Bonneville - Unfortunately, these mirrors don't fit the bar. They might work if I remove the outside sleeve from the mirror assembly (and the washer) but I'm not sure I want to do that - I also don't want to bore out the bar end... nice mirrors though. Maybe I'll hang on to them in case I opt for a new set of bars.

Did you work it out. You have to pull the pieces apart and just use the smaller of the two expanding pieces. I installed them.
