Anbernic came out with a new update for this on April 28. 2024. A lot of people seem to like it, calling it the best they've ever used. It's nice and simple, but I wouldn't call it the best. I've been using the March 6th version of Batocera Lite and it seems to perform a lot better than the latest Anbernic version! Also, some people are reporting the latest Anbernic update made people's analog sticks have huge dead zones making many games UNPLAYABLE! I'll stick to Batocera Lite.

Need to dig a dig to find proper rom locations when you transfer stuff over. Anything from Dreamcast (DC,NAOMI, PSP) up plays worse than it did on the Ambernic OS build that ships with the unit. If you want to be able to play the games that shipped with the unit as intended stick to the Ambernic Firmware for now. BUT I LOVE the Batocera look and feel.

Downloading the OS and games on a V30 SD card like the Samsung EVO will boost/quicken your loading up time. In fact, any class 10 and above cards from a reputable brand will give you noticeably quicker loading up times all around. Not sure if the slot supports a V90, though.

For screenScaper to work: create an account on the official website, log in in you console in the scrape menu To fix battery Darin: Backup share partition, Reformat share partition to ext4 (linux, windows use mini tool partition wizard), place sd again in Console. transfer your backup into de share partition.

I cannot provide you with any information on where to find ROMs. All I can say is Google it and be careful what websites you download things from.

I tried this OS a few days ago and hated it, the worst aspect was that it took like 30 seconds to boot every time, i hated that I couldnt use the function key to bring up RA settings, map controls and load, create save states. Im sure Btocera has its own way but i couldnt figure it out, not intuitive. I think Garlic (once its ready) will be the best option.

I was a big fan of Garlic on the RG35XX as well. Boot times are definitely slow, but they were pretty slow to start too lol. If I'm not mistaken, you're not going to find RA settings, but there is a settings page for each game and each console that does most of the same stuff.

Long boot time has been fixed in the new release. If you have issue with battery life, there is fix. File system need to be changed.

Hey I love your video here it actually helped me get betocera on my rg35xxh. I have a question that I was hoping you could answer since you seem to be pretty good. At these devices I use a Mac for a lot of my stuff and don’t really have a PC but when I uploaded new zones, it added extra files that are beginning with ‘._’ and I was wondering if you have come across that in your emulation stuff and if there is a way for me to get rid of it that is not confusing… I’ve been told they are temp Mac files but I’ve tried everything and they won’t disappear off my device

I’m having an issue where even if the system is completely shutdown, if I plug it in to charge, the system turns on and will not turn off while on the charger. I can put it in sleep mode but I can’t turn it off completely unless it’s off the charger. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I tried this on my RG35XX H and visually it's better, but performance on my Dreamcast games seemed to suffer substantially. However, on the original Abernic OS, even the upgraded version they released recently, Wi-Fi refuses - it simply refuses to work. On Batocera, Wi-Fi worked perfectly. I don't know what they people at Abernic are doing, but they really don't seem to have much of a clue.

Just one bug i had with this i wanted to share . Dont use economy mode in games , in snes game it make the sounds atrocious , like very choppy . I very like it and would stick to it .

You are able to flash it on a 32GB Sd card as well, what is not possible with original firmware without loosing about 25GB space for roms on a 32GB SD card...

Gotta admit it's better looking but needs a major update , I don't even get a share folder so have had to add another SD and have my games on a separate SD , so now don't have a bios load up when i boot despite following 3 diffrent videos i've gone back to stock till they fix it

The stock os was horrible. Most times turning on the devoce it would stay on the anbernic splash logo. So far everytime around 6 times ive turned it on with the custom os its great.

Can anyone confirm that the HDMI output works ok on this OS, I have tried and it just doesn't connect to the TV? I tried it with the stock OS that the device came with and the output works fine so I believe it's an OS issue but wanted to check if others experienced the same. Thanks

Figured it out for anyone who has this problem. We were on older versions of Batocera. I upgraded to the newest version and HDMI out works great.

Not on the stockOS and this firmware update Nerfs the device. It’s only in Alpha has a long way to go before I would recommend putting it on the device

I had the xx plus, since day one it didn't start i think mine had a defective switch button then when i was able to turn on everything was fine the first hours but when i added more games and ejecting the sd cards properly from my pc the sd went corrupted. Then since i sell upgraded r36s with Samsung sd cards, i try to do the same on the anbernic but it didnt start again, then i decided to return it too much defects on that, i wanna try again with the xx h any advice?

hi, I have a few questions. It works perfect but I’m running into a few problems one I can’t connect to the HDMI so I can play it on my TV anymore since I put it on there is there something else I have to put on there so I’ll be able to it something setting wise I got a stick because I tried everything. Also, when connecting my controller, I ca I can’t keep it wireless. It has to be connected to the amber Nick with wires and if I take the wires off after it’s connected, it doesn’t work. I’m using a PlayStation 4 controller. So maybe that's why.. Also I bought a 256 Gb and and 128 Gb sd cards. Their both really good but I can't get them to work together like it’s either one of them or the other gonna work. I also have batocera on both but can't get them to work together. And my last question is can you put GameCube or PlayStation 2 system on there

to many question xD: hdmi should be working on the batocera fork for rgxx35 h. - haven't tried bluethoot controllers - to use double SDs take this into account sd1 is for OS(btocer) SD2 for rooms: So Don't put anything on the SD2 until after first boot. e.j: install batocera on SD1, place SD1 and a CLEAN SD2 in their respective slots. turn on console, wait for it to boot and create files in both SD's. place ROMs in SD2.

Hi, thank you for your video ! I installed it but I have some issues : 1) When playing Nds games, the controls are absolutely horrible and weird. Even when I try to change them by opening drastic menu, it is too hard to change the controls. Secondly, for PSP games, it doesn't take into account the settings when I change them. i eventually got it to work but it was just random luck, just keep trying, my issue was once the image is written and all the popups telling you to "format" etc the h would load up fine but didn't populate the card whilst first booting. I decided to just ignore closing the pop up windows and just pulled the sd out of the pc then straight into the 35xx h.... once it booted i just " did a shutdown system" and put the card back in the pc and was shocked when the second partition said SHARE finally. Hi, how did you generate the share drive? I use the rufus program and the software took and boots up successfully. However, I only have batocera (F:) and no share drive to put roms. How did you get that? It seems like it just appears on the video.

For me, it took the remaining storage that was unallocated and created that partition for me. If you can check in disk management, you might be able to see what's going on. Check and see if there's any unallocated space and if there is, you might be able to format it and call it SHARE.

@scaryifliteral ok what I can see is I dunno if this the issue but when I put the batocera on and then go into the wizard to look there is a share file but it's not a fat32 file anymore and can only see it in the wizard tool. The batocera is still a fat32 though and I can see the batocera drive in the normal place but it's only 3.99gb something like that anyways.

But to answer your question I did figure it out. Hold the menu button while pressing up or down on the volume buttons

When I install Batocera on my SD card and put it back into the computer, the Batocera drive is there the same as shown in the video but I don't have the 'Share' drive. I have 3 unidentified USB drives (D, E and H) and I get a popup saying it they need to be formatted. Any ideas what's gone wrong?

​@@saulsanchez4145 Yeah, my problem was I was trying to do this before having the rg35xxh device. You need to put Batocera on the SD card and then put it into the device and it makes all the folders needed. You then take it out and the SHARE should be there and you just put the ROMs etc in the folders. Don't know if that's what your problem was but that was mine, good luck 👍
