BetaFlight Configurator 10.10 is out. This is my first time to use it. I have a USB-C port on my drone. I connect the USB-C port to my Mac (M1 Max MBP) but when I hit connect, it says it can't find the port. Port is set to /dev/rfcomm0. I also don't know if the USB-C port will power the drone or if I need to power on the drone via its battery. I've tried both ways and I get the same message: 2024-06-15 @09:17:46 -- Chrome API Error: Failed to connect to the port.. I don't have Chrome installed. I hope I don't need Chrome.

Hi, great video! I've a question tho. After Installation should the drone automatically connect to right port in Betaflight? I plugged in a (data) USB cable but it still doesn't connect

It should if the auto connect toggle is set to ON. Mac usually doesn't give any issues except for the silly install where you have to give it permission. I would try using a different cable OR verifying you're plugging into the correct USB port. You want to plug into the flight controller NOT the vtx

Easiest thing to try is a different USB cable. Some are power only and some data and power. You need data and power

So i got light of the drone of the light on when connect to the laptop, but i still can't see the drone appears in betaflight . You think still is the cable ?

I'll explain as simple as possible. Every USB cable can provide power, but not every USB cable can transfer data. Betaflight requires both data and power to interact with your drone. You could power it up with a USB cable and see lights, but if no data. is passing through the USB cable, it will never be detected by Betaflight assuming you haven't crashed the drone super hard, you should be able to connect to it no problem, but if there has been damage to the flight controller, you could also just not get any connection even if the USB cable is correct. Does it connect at all? If no, try a different USB cable. Some are power only, you need Data and Power

@@volaertus I did pick up a data mini-usb specifically after discovering I was using a charging usb, so the cable is good. I just now realized I had not powered up the usb hub- a simple fix (from now on, I'll always check if my washing machine is plugged in too before calling a repairman. Thanks for helping out!

Once the icon is done jumping nothing happens, it does say beta flight- configuration on the top left though. I have no idea where to go next.

I would try to re-install and also update your mac to the latest OS version if you want to eliminate issues. Sometimes there are just weird things that happen with computers, but it sounds like you made it 99% of the way to success. When it works properly, the program window will pop up automatically after the long initial loading.

I had an older Mac with High Sierra and it would show the top left title as yours did, but never was able to open the program. My new system with Ventura OS installed it and it opened right away. I do still have some port issues though- sometimes connects to fc, sometimes not.

I just figured it out. Open it in the finder with the view set to Columns then you can right click and hit option.
