EXCELLENT!!! Thank you for this great, succinct, video!! Now to go install the four blinds we got!! 10:32, Okay, we installed one (of five) and something that I wish you’d put in your video is to put the brackets for the header on the blinds BEFORE you attach them to the brackets! When we re-watched your video, we saw that you had them on there, but it wasn’t explained or obvious. Now we have to take the blind down and put the clip on and then put the blind back on and hope it holds!! The instructions clearly state not to put the blinds on the bracket before screwing them to the window frame. Also, pre-drilling the screw holes is a good idea and a must for us.

Great video, the only thing I would add is when you're installing them inside the window frame on a single large blind (not 3 smaller as he's doing here), lining up the clamps you're installing must be very close to perfect, so measure, mark the holes, and measure again before you drill...unless you want some holes in your frame. If you do say a 5 or 6 ft wide blind that requires 3 clamps, if any of the 3 (especially the middle clamp) are not perfectly aligned, the blind will not snap in place and job failed. When doing small blinds like this gentleman installed, with only 2 clamps, it's more "forgiving". Thanks for this video

The problem for me was that in the UK; window recesses are built differently without wood fascia. The top is usual a steel or concrete lintel with a light plaster skim and the sides are usually brick with a plaster covering and skim. This makes this method difficult. The only solution in this situation is to attatch a wooden baton to the top and then use that as an anchor for the brackets.

Thanks for the video. I just bought a new home and ordered blinds on Amazon. But they were the kind where you had a left/right piece on the inside that butted up against the frame. I've had issues in the past with those where if I got a blind a bit too small, it would fall out. Naturally it's tough to get an exact size. SOOO I cancelled that order and ordered these from Home Depot, as I like the way they mount better. Less forgiving and easier to install.

@@sarahb3548 you can remove the wand but it isn't easy to remove. When you install the wand for the first time you hear a "click" which is a small clear plastic tab that holds the wand into the main gear assembly that tilts the blind slats with the blind fully removed and the cover off the end of the headrail I have used a small allen wrench to pry the tab enough to pull the wand out with some considerable force. If you go to Home Depot and have them cut the blinds to size I would have them cut the blinds to 35" which would give 1/4" clearance on each side and then 1/2" clearance in the middle of the 2 blinds. If you find in stock blinds that might work remember if the box says 35" wide the blinds are actually only 34.5" wide because they build in the 1/4" clearance to each side. Best of luck!

Do these blind offer complete privacy at night? Can you see into the window when they're drawn and closed? Like shadows of people?

I think they do a good job with providing privacy. Since the 2.5 inch faux wood blinds are much thicker than standard 1 inch vinyl blinds you don’t see shadows of people walking around in the house from the outside.

Hi- one of my blind brackets is not holding blinds properly… it’s happening for every window. Do you know what I might be doing wrong ? I’m measuring and doing the exact way you have explained. Thx 🙏

Does the blind keep popping off when you try to clip it into place? I usually can solve this by mounting the blind to the back of the head rail and rotate into place while applying pressure towards the back of the bracket making sure it doesn't pop off as I rotate the head rail into place to get the front clip to secure into place.

@@EverydayHomeRepairs the rear bracket hook is holding well with no issues. But the one which holds the front of the blind is sitting loose on one side. When I lift the cordless blinds and pulling it down it’s popping off

My casement window is 103 1/2 x 47 1/2 . The two sides are 34 2/8 x 47 and the middle window is 35 1/8 x 47. Should I buy 2 blinds 34 x 47 and 1 blind 35 x 47 . Is this right ?. Thank you for your help. Felipe

I’ve had an issue with this blind where the metal part at the very bottom was lifting up one side at the bottom when I close up the blinds. If they’re open it’s fine. Any suggestions?

I need to remove the blinds to paint inside the window frame. I can't seem to get them to "pop out". I sure could use a how-to video on "how to remove & reinstall" these faux wood blinds from Home Depot.

If you have the side brackets, use an extender on your drill to go through the holes to reach the screw.

so how do you know how far back to set the mounting bracket? Thank you for the video my man. You got an awesome view!

I just listen to the rest of your video and you tell how to do that. You screw in the slot portion first and then line it up to header and then set the second screw. You saved me time by not having to read the instructions.

just to be clear, I have really no experience with home improvements, I'm interested in the same shades, but my windows have metal frame and go basically all the way to the ceiling (just like a inch or so of clearance)...so question is, this shades can be mounted in the ceiling?

You need to add how to install brackets in more details. I have the same blinds and the bracket is different from what I had years ago. I am now replacing some of my blinds There were no directions in the box which is why I sought out a video. Found on another video. Hope this feedback helps.
