I have been watching a lot of DIY boat wiring tutorials and your video is by far the best. Simple, easy, straight forward and you show each step. Thank you!

I'm glad to see I'm not the only extremely meticulous boat guy out there.. 😂 I rehab and flip boats myself. It's an addiction bringing older bass boats back to life, sell em, make a little and start over.

That’s awesome! Yeah I need to get myself back into another boat project… it’s definitely a fun way to keep busy when I’m not fishing!

Trolling motor head hangs out to far over side. The guild post will catch them as you unload the boat. At least it looks like it will to me. Excellent video. I’m redoing my wiring now.

It's close... but the back of the boat is wider than the front, so I made sure the trolling motor head did not stick out past the gunnel at the back. If I were to do it over, I'd probably angle the trolling motor more sharply to the front so it doesn't hang over at all.

Nice work, clean install! I would look into getting some marine grade shrink tubing to go over your connectors, even though they are shrink tube as well. I have heard of people having issues with corrosion in as little as a year, even though they claim to be water proof.

Yeah I did end up using heat shrink wrap on all of them…. Didn’t feel comfortable with just the connector

Very informative. Did you grommet around any wires that were entering any metallic openings (think specifically where the wires were running into the gunnel from the battery compartment)? I'm always worried about metal rubbing against the wire sheathing and cutting it open. Thanks for posting!!

Yes, I did use a grommet where those wires are coming out into the bilge area... I'd always recommend covering those types of areas because I definitely worry about it too!

Hey, next time when you go to put those pool wires through and instead of using like older wires like just you know small wires like speaker wire use a strip throttle cable one without any of the rubber coating on it just the throttle cable it’s very strong and can go round corners

Can you give me the name of the connectors you use on this post.

can I ask why you used 4ga wire to run to the fuse box. I don't think your going to need that big of a wire just to run lights and pumps on. now the trolling motor needs a heavy wire to it. and the engine starter needs a 4ga on it. But that was just over kill for the smaller stuff your going to run on the fuse box. And as close as your battery is to the trolling motor you could have used a good 8ga wire for it.

I didn’t want the wire to be a limiting factor that’s all. Aside from cost, there’s no downside so why not go bigger than you need

If I were you, I would do it at the trolling motor in the front

Don’t understand how you’re starting your boat and have light accesories all off of 1 battery

You don’t need much power to run some LED lights… most boats have 1 starting battery that also powers all the electronics. How many do you think you need??
