That's a damn fine looking boat young man ! Best part is being able to stand back and say you made that.

@24:23 not hating but those boxes should go all the way to the sides. Being you have more than enough metal you could cut them and refabricate them to go to the sides of the boat. This gives me an idea for my own 20/83 1982 husky jon project.
@Everydayfishing Жыл бұрын
Yeah they just weren’t made from the factory to go all the way over. Passenger side is the rod storage area so it makes sense. The driver side would probably be better all the way, but I didn’t fabricate the boxes. Just used the original to keep it the way it was when it was new

It looked like the seat pedestal screws were pretty small for long term durability. Now 2 years later how are they holding up?

So far so good! No problems… but it’s not like I’m out on Lake Erie either. I’m sure they aren’t made for big big water

Awesome Video! Where did you get the seat bases? I need them for my tracker.
@Everydayfishing Жыл бұрын
Those bases with the lids came with the boat actually…. They were original. You might have luck looking for something similar on eBay!

How far did you space the console from the seats? Any regrets on placement?
@danielbrim23122 жыл бұрын
Great job on the boat build! Do you have a link to those boat seats? I'm trying to add a console in my boat and your video was helpful for figuring out what I'll need to do for the steering wheel.

Thanks man - yeah I bought the seats from Bass Pro… they have $50 ones and $100 ones depending on how nice you want to go. Good luck with your build! www.basspro.com/shop/en/bass-pro-shops-100188587

Ya need cup holders between those seats, lol.

For sure! There will be two cup holders in between the seats

Awesome! I’m about to undertake my build. Did you use 1/2 or 3/4 wood? Don’t recall thanks
@Everydayfishing Жыл бұрын
I used 3/4 on the front and rear deck, and 1/2 on the middle section. Have fun with yours!

did you build the seat bases and the middle storage console? if not where’d you get them from?
@Everydayfishing3 жыл бұрын
No those aluminum boxes came with the boat - you'd probably be able to buy something like that from a fabricator or online... but the ones I am using came from the manufacturer when the boat was originally built.

where did you find the carpet?

Lowe’s and Home Depot both carry it in various colors… just search for marine carpet

Where did you get the new steering assembly?

Forget the carpet and get Hydro Turf
@Everydayfishing2 жыл бұрын
Well, aside from the fact that its considerably more expensive, since this was my first build I was keeping it simple. There is a lot more room for error when using carpet - the hydro turf isn't very forgiving. I've seen some bad DIY jobs with that stuff. It's great though - maybe the next build!
@ClayWilliamson3 жыл бұрын
Bro…. You can’t leave that pedestal in the front hatch. It’s like a red stain on brand new white carpet. Make the hatch smaller or put access to that spot somewhere else. Like someone keyed a brand new custom paint job. Insanely cringe worthy 😬
@Everydayfishing3 жыл бұрын
Haha - I think you're being a bit dramatic... its not quite that bad. How would I go about just making the hatch smaller?? Hatches generally can be made bigger... but smaller is not so easy.
@josephpepitone5447 Жыл бұрын
you are not dramatic I thought the same exact thing. Seats aren’t centered either. definitely a hard video to watch
