I purchased some second hand Bushwacker cut out flared guards.
If you have never done any body modifications before it can be quite daunting. I hope by me filming this you will get the initiative to do this job yourself.
This is real back yard mechanics.

I am not really sure how to respond to that coment. I am lucky but it takes hard work to be lucky. My tools are a lifetime collection. I still have tools I brought when I was a teenager. As a family we are always home looking after our disabled son. We don't smoke or drink or do drugs. And most our weekends are spent looking after other disabled kids to give their parents or carers a break for which we get some funding. I make what I need also. My air compressor I found in the rubbish and conected a washing machine motor Which burned out so conected a old motor from my late fathers wood lathe. 50% of my hand tools are from garage sales or flea markets. The Bushwacker guards you see in this clip are second hand. Im quite ill myself as well and my Jeep is a hobby that keeps me sane. I can only work on my Jeep somitimes thats why sometimes there are long breaks between filming. But through all of this I do feel blessed. Blessed to have a loving wife and children and feel the more we help others the more blessed we get. Sorry if I answered a bit harsh but I know I work and struggle so hard for everything in my life and get upset when people think i'm just lucky. But thank you for the compliment. Well no not as yet anyway. Im just glad the 31 inch tires are not rubbing anymore. Maybe in future I will but these tires are still like new and cost $1300 so not in a hurry to replace them. If I did I would upgrade the suspension first. Some l0ng arms maybe. Regards Rik

Your welcome and thanks for the positive feedback. When I started the clip I was by myself and only showed you what I did in stages. And yes I did I sprayed under body spray on both sides of the exposed metal. I also used lots of sealer sealing any openings to stop water and dirt. But in case you are talking about the screw holes some paint or grease or what have you is recomended. I do plan to remove the panels and rust treat the screw holes. We are lucky in our climate as rust is not a big problem here. We don't have snow or salt spray and the air is dry here. My Jeep is 17 years old and has no rust yet. Regards Rik

my tyre hits the top of guard not sides so these wont work 2 inch lift with 31.5 inch tyres how will i overcome that
@RikBor

Mine has a 2 inch lift but are far from hitting the top? Do you have spacers? Maybe they stick out past the fenders for that to happen. In that case you would need to lift it more or reduce the spacer size.

Is there another way to do this. To modify the fender flares so not to cut the car. I am planing to do this also but my WJ is super condition. Thanks

Not if you want big shoes. You need to install smaller tires or a much bigger lift. But I dont want to lift too much so I had no choice but to cut the Jeep. I too found it hard as my clear coat was peeling but the Jeep has no rust. Good luck with your adventures. Rik

No one makes a 'no-cut' kit for the WJ. I have a 2000 Laredo and I feel the same way. I actually want to lower mine a bit with wider wheels & Tires like a poor mans Track Hawk. But there is nothing for the WJ besides these. Well , Notch, but those require even more modifications.

Yes sorry if that bothered you but I'm a very I'll man with 3 spinal injuries. I have had 2 operations since that clip and looking forward to my next one. I need a few more. I have had so many I forget the number. Most mornings I pray I don't wake up but still here. I keep fighting as I love my family and my life. But the important thing is if my clip can help people not if I breath hard? Regards Rik
