Hi.. please can you let me know if the carpet tape affects the hardwood floor finish?

In the 20 months since I installed the treads they have stayed on great. So, I've not had a chance to remove and check for any damage to the wood. Check the manufacturer's page. According to them, this is residue-free and hardwood is on the list of suggested floors.

Would you have used the self stick treads that allready have the adhesive on the back? Self stick treads on Amazon. I'm thinking about buying those to avoid cutting tape. Thoughts ?
