Blue lug international is where I got my Kashimax aero saddle. They are out of Tokyo Japan. It is a leather padded saddle. this bike shop caters to Bike packers and cyclists that are into the gravel scene but they have Kashimax saddles. The only reason why I know that because that’s mostly my scene of bike riding but I did get a BMX because I’m old-school as well. They also have some fairly padded saddles by Kashimax, but if you want the closest to the old-school plastic race saddle the Kashimax arrow is I have. It is padded, and it’s leather it’s a very nice saddle. I really enjoy your videos. It was nice to hear I’m not the only one going through a midlife crisis right now.😊❤️🙏

I used the same caliper bracket on my 29" GT performer. I found that while holding the brake any backwards pull on the bike the bracket rolled backwards even tho the block on the bracket sits in the dropout it still allowed a good bit of play. I wrapped a super heavy zip tie thru the bracket and around the seat stay it stopped 90 percent of the movement. As far as the disc adapter there is one guy in California that has billet adapters for the small side of the hub 30x1mm thread allowing me to run my high quality 18t freewheel. I'm still waiting for my hutch 29xl to ship and im planning to run a 110mm profile elite disc hub with the caliper adapter.

Love you guys thanks for the shout out. The stickers and the Hutch look awesome. love the topic. I would love to hear your thoughts on the challenge of upgrading the Monster Quad. Seems to be a hell of a bike to start but wheel changes can become expensive quick. I think a talking discussion video would be cool vs trying to actually invest in it. Keep up the great work you are inspiring.

Another awesome video! If you paint those v-brake mounts, you'll need to sand them down if you ever use them in the future. Not a big deal though. For the brake lever, any long-pull mechanical lever would work, like the Box3 levers for v-brakes, for example. Beautiful bike, and I think those tires look great!

You always come in clutch with the awesome advice! Good point on the painting of the v-brake mount. I like the Box 3 levers myself! Thanks for watching and for another great comment!

Another great build and video! If you do go with the Paul Klamper, you won’t be disappointed. It’s the best mechanical disc brake and they look awesome. As for the lower profile tires , 700c tires may be the way to go.

Try the laid back seat post. I think you'll like it. I have one on a GT 29 and it makes the bike feel more comfortable to cruise and easier to wheelie. I'm about 5 10 so not really tall. Also, I have disc brakes on my 27.5 PK Ripper but I can't stop them squealing/juddering despite changing pads, cleaning rotors and adjusting them. Let me know if you have any ideas to fix them. By the way, I'm 55, in the UK and have the same memories of BMX as you. I can send you some photos of my reissue bikes if you have a contact email on your website? Cheers guys

The v brake post can be removed with an Allen key some you can't just look inside the post and if you see an L key slot you can remove the v post without using those valve dice caps
@cruisinginthe808 Жыл бұрын
Some of them can be removed and some cannot. I want to say Bernie has tried to remove the one on the Hutch but he thinks it's something that is welded to the frame. Thanks for the suggestion!

I don’t know why anyone would put a disc brake on a bike with V brakes ? No advantage to stopping or slowing down for normal bike riding as the V brakes are great brakes.
@cruisinginthe8082 ай бұрын
V-Brakes are good brakes but disc brakes to me are just better. Less rim wear, especially on anodized rims. If I had a choice, Iʻd use disc brakes on all of my bikes. But they arenʻt very old school looking and a conversion requires a lot of stuff so I donʻt do them often. In fact for me, our new Torker is the first bike weʻre doing it on. Bernie did this one on his Hutch. Itʻs a preference thing and Iʻm excited to try it out on the new Torker build. The cool thing about it is that I have flip flop hubs and bought the adaptor for the smaller side so if I donʻt like how they work, I can just remove them and install v-brakes. Thanks for the comment and for watching!
