How to Install Engine External Components; (Hyundai / Kia 2.4 GDI) - Long Block Rebuild Ep. 4

Hyundai / Kia 2.4 GDI Thermostat Housing, Water Pump, Alternator, AC Compressor, Pulley Bracket Assembly, Exhaust Manifold, HP Fuel Pump, Exhaust Manifold, Coil Packs and Rear Engine Seal installation demonstration. In the last video episode (Ep. 3) we completed the long block rebuild by installing the timing chain cover, oil pan and valve cover. Today we'll mount the majority of the external components that bolts onto the engine block before moving the engine into the car's engine bay.

Hi what kind of bolt and length you use for engine stand. i am planning to do for Camry .. i know it is different per car, but any guidance will be hellpful

For the Sonata / Kia 2.4 engine, use 2 long threaded bolts that passes through the bottom engine mount holes. For the top, I used left over bolts from another rebuild using the 12 point bolts that holds the oil pump ladder to the engine block. The thread pitch of these bolts matches the upper engine block holes and is the right length.
