Great video! I would like to know if FireCapture has the option to use a second monitor, it would be very useful for monitoring a live stream of the April 8 eclipse. By the way, do you have any recommendations for getting the best possible quality during the streaming? The telescope I will be using is a "Coronado SolarMax II 60" and the camera is the "ZWO ASI1600MC". Greetings from Mexico!

Thanks! And hello there in Mexico! You should have an amazing view of the eclipse! By 'use a second monitor' do you mean display the same firecapture window on a second monitor? If so, then you should be able to duplicate your display instead of extending. If I'm not understanding the question, let me know. You have a great camera! For a good quality stream, you just need good internet with good upload speeds. You should definitely do a test run before eclipse day. I've done a few already and hope to do a couple more before April. Do you have any monochrome cameras? Like a guide camera? You'll get better contrast from a monochrome camera than the 1600MC. I recommend reading this article on the Lunt website about imaging with a color camera vs mono: luntsolarsystems.com/imaging-with-your-telescope/ - the idea will be the same for the Coronado.

If I use a cooled camera in Firecapture is there a way to control my cameras cooling? If not could I use ASCAP to control cooling?

Good question! Under "Control" click on "More" and then you'll see an option that says "TargetTemp" - just check that on and you should be able to change the target temperature. For lucky imaging, you won't really see any benefits to cooling your camera. For Planetary images, I use my 533MC Pro which is a cooled camera and I keep the temperature control off so I usually never talk about it when I talk about firecapture.

Yes! if you look at the list of cameras, the last one is called DummyCam (around 2:48 mark of the video). You can even use a raw video of a planet and pretend like it's actually looking at the planet with the DummyCam. That would have been a great thing to mention in the video. I'll fit it into the next time I talk about FireCapture 😊
