I replaced the ring gasket at top of pump (was leaking) but unable to locK THE ring clamp under the 5 HOOKS, Gasket is in groove OK. Any tips please?

Ok thank you so much. Now, I installed the fuel pump to my nissan murano and once done I turned it on but there is a really hard shaking to the car. When i accelerate the shake is more. Could that be the cause of not releasing the pressure?

just bend the metal housing down with channel locks and use a hammer and large screw driver worked like a charm and saved 125.00 bucks on the stupid tool you will only use once ! LOL

so as it goes the pump is working but now i have multiple problems , ABS light and TCS light are on . my MPH gage isnt working my fuel gage isnt going past quarter tank and my MPG gage isnt working as well. i have an 06 altima SE-R . all i did was deaconect the negative terminal and the fuel pump and reconnect new one .

Is the 2012 similar? Is the fuel filter located inside the gas tank?

The job is similar. Your 2012 calls for more time in doing the job, other than that the process is pretty similar. Both modules do have a strainer contained within the housing.

you don't have to drop the fuel tank on the Quest. take out the middle row seats and lift the carpet. floor access panel is behind the middle row seats towards middle.

Very true. Without the Nissan tool, or equivalent, removing the lock ring is next to impossible.

After install is complete, battery reconnected, function the ign. key 4-6 times, without starting, you should hear the pump responding each time. Then it should start.

Just bought this tool online for 126 bucks 47 extra for UPS next day air . That's a hell of a one off turn for that price !!! It's obvious the manufacturer doesn't want a civi working on it and only wants the dealer to do it so they can charge you a arm and a leg . Pitiful !

I would start by checking the local parts store. While this tool is unique to Nissan it won't hurt to start local. If it is not available locally to rent or borrow or purchase an internet search will show a number of suppliers. Make sure it is applicable to the Nissan you are working with.
