How to Install Gauges on a Mazda RX8 (Prosport Evo)

Another way to monitor the heat is to get an OBD mini scanner and use your phone to set the maximum temperature, so when water reaches it an alarm will go off on your phone. It also calculates your fuel consumption and cost.

Accessport or no? If you'll have one then oil temp, water temp, and oil pressure. If no accessport then boost, air/fuel, and one of the other three depending on what you want

Orange wire(red color) is connected to the headlight switch usually while the white one(blue color) is constant, so you'll have blue at daytime and red at "night" while the headlights are on

1. Oil pressure should be around 15-20psi when all warmed up at idle. Will be in the 60s psi when driving. 2. Oil Temp DO NOT let it get above 215-220F. Coolant seal damage starts at 220 F - mine is usually around 180F 3. Water temp DO NOT let it get above 220 F. Its not as bad as the oil temp...but how can you be cooling down the engine with water that is 220F??? Mine is usually around 180F Watch my video on why you need gauges for your rx8 for some more info on overheating. Hope this helped!

I know it's been half a decade but there's a kit that puts 2 of the gauges where the ash tray is below the radio. You can also get an A-Pillar cluster.

How did you wire it for the lights at night? The bottom 5 fuses are constant. The top 5 are switched. I don't see a fuse that's active only when you turn the lights on

Does your water temp adapter stretch the hose at all? Others on rx8club said to use 34mm, but you used 36mm. Which should I go with?

Sheetywah 34mm is the size of my aftermarket hoses. And it fit snug.

blaspHEMI 11 Good luck with that. It's much easier to use an after market sensor because you don't need to tamper with wiring. Also the sensor comes with the gauges. The only additional expense is wire and adapters
