How to Install Halos in Headlights - Detailed Guide

Little tip on the drill bit....put electrical tape as a mark on how deep youre going ....so if youre going 1/8" deep for example ...measure down from the tip 1/8 and tape it. Depending on how much u use, it can act like a stopper too .love your vids, keep it up

Too funny, I've actually started doing that for the longest time since this video. This is another older one and I believe a very early set of headlights that I've built. I've done hundreds since and continue to find little things like the tip you gave to facilitate the process as I go. Thanks for the compliment on the videos as well, if I weren't so busy at the moment, I'd be getting way more released as I want to, but I will soon.

you can use a 9V battery to do so! They're the little rectangular batteries you can find at most stores. I hope this helps!

Jasmine Whitner no I have not. As of right now it is hard to send my headlights out due to the fact that my second vehicle isn’t around. I would have to get a spare pair of headlights while my original ones are sent out. Hopefully after everything with COVID I will be able to get to it before the end of the year

You have to put them on the inside! These are not waterproof, so make sure they’re installed properly in your headlights.

Does the turn signal shine through the black painted reflector?

Yessir! I give the option to mask where the turn signal shines through or to paint it in a black tint. Either way, you can still see it very well! The side marker is almost redundant, but I still like to ensure it is clearly visible in all conditions for safety.

+Cristoval Peredia I recommend using power either from your battery, or from a relay to your battery. It's a good idea to use a voltage regulator nonetheless to ensure no more, or less, then 12 volts is going to the halos!

Why not use jb weld instead of thin metal wire?

You could do that, but JB Weld is kinda messy and needs to gas off before resealing the headlights. It's a small inconvenience, but the wire is a cleaner and safer method to most!

kiki85900 yes I suppose you could if you got it hot enough. Obviously do so before paint and sand down and excess plastic that melted. If the hole is too big, fill it with black silicone after you pass the wires and surround the hole with masking tape before so, lift the masking tape, and let the silicone settle.

Okay, so I feel ya man. I had started with Oracle brand red halos, if you see my Instagram page, Casey.ort8 , you'll see in the older pics I have red CCFL Oracle halos. I have had nothing but issues, one of the halos broke and doesn't light up, the drivers are inside the headlight, and I still to this day have put fixing them aside. The pair in the video was for a customer, he's still running them and they have zero issues. I think LEDs are the way to go, but I'd look at Starry Night Halos too. Good luck, man! I feel the same way. Nowadays, there are silicone gel coats over the LEDs to create a more uniform output. Check that out, they don't look as off. But thanks for watching too!
