How to Install In-Wall Speakers | Full Process | Focal 1000 IWLCR6 Sopra | HOME THEATER SETUP VLOG

In this video, I'm doing a full how-to for installing the pair of Focal 1000 IWLCR6 in-walls in my living room. These are replacing the current pair of Triad Silver LCR6 speakers. I'm leaving the Triad Bronze subs. I did some in-wall installation coverage for Home Theater 2.0, but this video is the full project from start to finish. I don't consider either one of my spaces to be a compromise nor has anyone that has experienced them. 😀 I also have no desire in this room for a center. It would be worse than the experience now.

Just a quick tip - tape the drop cloth to your wall and tahr should catch all the dust.

Did you end up aiming the drivers in? Any thoughts on how well that works in changing how the speaker sounds? Looks amazing!

I have not directed any tweeters on the speakers (yet). I probably will experiment in the theater at some point. In the living room though, I'm not sure I will. I don't want audio focused toward the center of the couch really vs. being more diffuse.

Looking good! Must be nice being young. I just don’t have the energy to do those projects now. Especially since my Wife passed away! I have 0 desire to install speakers In-wall! I like to adjust my speaker position for optimum placement and installing in-wall would drive me crazy wondering if I could have position then better. I do like the look of your Tv & speakers. Neat/clean look! Would you say your In-walls sound as good as your Towers you just sold? Next time you paint get a heat gun to dry it. I didn’t know the AVM70 automatically changes it’s source to match the incoming signal! I was playing a DVD-Audio and I could play the disc in either stereo or surround. When I picked stereo the 70 automatically changed to None. When I picked surround the 70 changed to Dolby Surround. Nice feature! Waiting for the next video! 👴🏽

Ha, I'm working my way up there too, LOL. I think the in-walls sound great. I never had the towers connected in here to experience them so I can't say. They stood in here for a bit just to see how they fit. But I think I hear the same Focal high-end quality. Looking forward to EQ'ing the living room at some point, but this will work for a while. Good call on the heat gun. I find the Anthem has a "memory" for each signal per input and will remember what you set. So you kind of have to check it for a while as you play different content from different sources and check and get the desired sound mode set for each.

Sorry, to hear about your wife. Maybe if you got into it again. It might help and there's a lot of room correction software out now to put your system at its best. Just take it - bit by bit as they say - any journey starts with the first step. When my dad passed - I took it bad. But with the help of a few friends and some other good people who didn't know they helped me too.

I don’t recall how I found that idea. I think I saw DreamMedia using a cutting tool in one of their videos which led me to research. I had the dremel already. I’m using just a drywall cutting bit for the dremel. They have all kinds of bits. Was like a dollar or two at Home Depot.

Jaremy, im currently running a full 7.1.4 Focal 300 system. Im considering stepping up to the 1000s or a switch to Triad Silvers (But Golds as LCR). Now that you’ve had your 1000s installed and had a good period of using them, could you please offer a compare and contrast to what your experience is sonically w your 1000s to what you had before. Has it been the upgrade you sought out? Also, amy thoughts you have with comparing them to the Triads. Thanks in advanced.

How do you like inwall subs bs in room subs. What do you feel like is better with the focal vs the triad.

The in wall subs are great for this space. The goal was to keep it clean and gear out of the floor space. Of course, you can get bigger bass more easily outside the wall, but these two subs do enough work for me. They shake the gutters outside the house. 😀 I feel the Focal was a very solid upgrade to the Triad and should be in this room a very long time.

Thanks! In-wall 2.2 would be pretty sweet and clean for a bedroom. The subs are Triad Bronze 6. Powered by the Triad RackAmps. They are nice. Part of the original speaker array for the room when we built the house, so I'm getting full milage out of them. :)
