How to Install Install the Retrax EQ Tonneau Cover

Do you have any instructions on installing the EQ cabin module in a 3rd gen Tacoma?

Where do the drain tubes go? Do you have to drill the bed? (2024 F250).

I purchased the retrax EQ so I can use the app and truck key fob to operate the bed cover. One thing they don’t tell you is app will not work if your truck has automatic side steps, doesn’t matter if they are factory installed or aftermarket. If Retrax would have advertised the bed cover this way I would not have purchased this bed cover. I would have went with the cheaper version. Called retrax and waiting to hear back from them. Will update once issue has been resolved.

I have factory steps, not sure if that makes a difference. They did contact me and was told the engineers are working on a solution, and they offered to buy it back. Was informed there are 48 Tundras that are having similar issue.

@@Texans_tundra mine are factory as well BUT my truck is not a Tundra. It’s a Ram 1500. Odd though that the app doesn’t work with power steps. Must be a frequency issue of some kind. I thought however that it was a Bluetooth connection to the cover and app.

Went to the link and I don't see any 2024 Chevy 2500 available. Do you know of an availability date or if the 2022 EQ would fit/ be compatible with the 2024 trucks? Thanks

What size is the canister?

The canister on that cover is about 9 3/4 in. deep into the bed from the top of the bed rails. It extends out about 10 inches from the cab to the tailgate

THE EQ DOES NOT WORK ON NEW GM TRUCKS- DO NOT BUY IT IF YOU HAVE A NEW CHEVY/GMC. The promised door lock/unlock and tailgate functions don't work, and it almost never responds after 3 presses of the remote. 4-6 is the norm. !DO NOT BUY THE RETAX EQ IF YOU HAVE A NEW CHEVY/GMC!

There's two versions . One for 19-21 one for 22+ refreshed models. The harness is different . Harness is also different on amp research steps.
