Hey Dustin! I was wondering if you could list all the tools you needed for this job. You had the drywall saw but what tools did you need to get the drain, sink lines and disposal off and on? What tools do you need to install the cabinets? I am going to rip my base cabinets out and replace them but since I’ve never done this before, I don’t know all what tools I’ll need and don’t want to get stuck and keep running back to the store if I don’t have one that I do need. This was a very helpful video! Thanks!
@homemend2 жыл бұрын
Hi COZ! First off great question and I appreciate the idea for a complete video dedicated to this but I won’t make you wait for it! Channel locks and six way screwdriver, you usually need a razor knife for every project and for removing and installing cabinets a cordless drill or screw gun. Are not as intense of a list as you thought? Oh and it never hurts to have a level close by when doing cabinets. I hope this helps! Thanks for commenting

Hey Dustin if the drain and valves are in good shape, there's no need to replace them; correct? I'm doing a kitchen remodeling and was wondering how I get the new base cabinet in around all the plumbing but I see now I can just take it apart the put it back together.....great video
@homemend3 жыл бұрын
Hey g. Only change the valves if needed. And I change the drain if it’s gross. Lol you got this.

You opened the wall up, so why didn't you just cut the drain back and move along in wall a few inches instead of cutting the cabinet? sorry curious. I would have moved plumbing first over ruining a cabinet. other wise great vid.

Hi Annie. The steps aren’t missing you just didn’t watch enough video… This video was about swapping your sink base cabinet and still have a working sink until your new countertops are ready. The new sync set up comes after the cabinet :-) you got this

Is there anything special one should do to keep the cabinet firmly planted to a single spot? Mine is in need of replacing but the whole nit isn't attached to any of the other cabinets.
@homemend4 жыл бұрын
heyhey kasy! screwing to the wall will work but having them screwed into adjoining cabinets is the way to go...if its a single, the back wall will do!

Wear rubber gloves when you mess with dirty old traps. Who knows what's inside there. Also, you should have done away with the fernco (rubber coupling) and just put a pvc coupling on that. With that location it could come back to haunt you with a leak in a bad spot bud.

Hey Charles it never really matters why it was loose it’s important to make sure it’s not loose when we install the new one. Not sure what you need to see but you basically measure , cut the hole and slip the cabinet to the wall. I hope this helps!
