How to Install Load Resistors for your Turn Signals

In this video I show you 2 types of load resistors but only use one of them in the video. These load resistors will slow down Hyper Flash caused by the low resistance of led bulbs. This install can be applied to any bike.

The orange device is a a flasher relay circuit, not a load resistor. Different bikes/cars have different form factors and pinouts. I think most are in a box like the one you have, the flasher relay on my bike has a different form factor.

@@ACProductions77 let me tell you the whole story.. I have an H2 and doing a tail tidy. I actually cut off and tossed the stock blinkers, thinking I wasnt gonna need them. Then i discovered that to get access to the relay I would need to get under the dash.. So i yesterday I ordered the OEM blinkers that cost 150 each.. and just now found your vid, now i cancelled the order. And ordered the resistors.. 8 bucks vs 300+... you saved me some money bro :)

So if you don’t get that relay/ resistor the fuse will eventually blow? or will you just have very fast signals?

you just will have a fast flashing turn signal

How about the rear LED signals? Do they need their own resistors?

on some bikes you will need a resistor on each one

The LED indicators I bought have 50W 6RJ resistors. They are intended for a car but I'm installing them on a motorcycle. The flash rate is okay but the lights themselves are dim. Is there anything I can do to make them brighter? Maybe put in a different resistor?

if your able to find the main turn signal load resistor box then you can install this one as you will be able to adjust the flash rate on it. click this link>> amzn.to/3voc0nL this will also equalize the amount of current going to all 4 & hopefully fix you dimming situation.

Question. Do you need 4 resistors for the 2 fronts and 2 backs?

it depends on the bike , some need one at every light & others just need one for the pair & others you can have one main one for the whole bike.

Im not clear on this bro, are you putting the resistor in line on the positive wire, do you have a wiring diagram?

@@ACProductions77 i see it now.. this is a parallel.. wonder what will happen if its wired inline. It will have a lot more resistance, and may be too slow.. in that case, a lower resister would be needed. Im gonna get a bunch of resisters to see what works best

@@CrusaderGeneral as long as there is enough load to slow down the the flash rate on your turn signals. But if you’re able to locate the main turn signal relay box then you can just replace that with a led one as i show in the video and with that one it’s a one and done plus you can adjust the flash rate

for yours you will need to replace the main turn signal load resistor with a led one this will allow you to control how fast they blink on all 4, normally located under the main rider seat its a small square black box

If you look up “metric diode kit” you’ll find some tutorials. You could also replace you turn signal relay with one designed for low current LEDs. Either of those might be your solution, or both.

avez-vous installé des clignotants à led sur votre moto ou avez-vous encore les ampoules ordinaires d'origine ?

Si le clignotant s'est arrêté lorsque vous appuyez sur le bouton, il se peut qu'il ait besoin d'une résistance de charge beaucoup plus élevée sur ce clignotant LED, vous devrez peut-être installer une charge plus élevée ou installer 2 résistances de charge sur la même ampoule de clignotant LED.

Those are resistors. There is no positive/negative. They aren't diodes. Or are they?
