Definitely get springs thatll fit on your car, they’re rated differently when it comes to weight and drop height

Handling improves! On turns n what not, driving is still smooth although you might notice a difference on bumps, depending your wheel set up

If you need struts you might as well look into getting some coil-overs, that’ll give you fully adjustable suspension

There will definitely be some differences in chasis/suspension, but regardless you should be able to knock it out in a day

I would messure how many mm of tread is left before removing the bolts for the spring. I don't know if that makes sense.

To be on the safer side yes, u can get away without it tho depending on the height of the spring compared to the strut
