There is another easy way too: Open Inspector on a clip, Show the Info inspector (i), Scroll down to Camera LUT, open dropdown list, scroll all the way down and select Add Custom Camera LUT..., the select the folder with your LUTs and that's it.

So I guess I am not fully understanding, sorry new to LUTS, I downloaded the “Everything for Final Cut Pro” it had several LUTS packages, do I leave all those packages in my downloads until I am ready to use them and pull them from downloads every time? I am sure I am missing something.

Hey there! Using this method you only need to install them once, but I would recommend doing it now so they are installed ready for use instead of waiting in the future. So put the LUT folders from the Ultimate Bundle somewhere you know where they are (I personally have a folder on my desktop called “Filmmaking Assets”) so they are easy to locate inside “Custom LUT” and follow the steps in this tutorial.

Hey there, you can store the LUT files anywhere on your computer - we would not neccessarily recommend inside "Motion Templates" as this is for plugin files specifically. 3DL files can be installed onto certain cameras that can "bake in" LUTs, so you can shoot live with your LUT applied already to the footage.

question I have is I just bought full access so there are way more luts then this one folder. Can we just select the dozen folders or do we have to go into each folder and that's what we select to import? If we have to go into each folder can you only import one folder at a time?

Hey there Bryce, sure! Its really simple. Instead of selecting the one LUT, you simply select the folder and it will import the whole folder as a category in your list of LUTs in FCP. Hope that helps!

So, my Tarantino, Nolan, Coppola, etc folder, got mixed with my Warm Christmas, Boxing Day, Chill Christmas, etc folder. I would like to have them all separate. Thanks! Lx

Hey there Alex, so when you import your LUTs in "Custom LUT", instead of selecting the individual LUTs like we do in this tutorial, you can simply select the folder they are in instead. This will import them as a folder and categorise them as such within Final Cut Pro. Hope that helps!

It sounds like you may have the “4k” option selected if you’re not seeing “Custom LUT”, or you could be searching with the incorrect category selected. Make sure you’re in the right category on the list on the left hand side of the effects tab
