Magnet catches don't work well in earthquakes. We had some fly open in the Christchurch earthquake in 2011. Lots of the contents were spread all over the floor. Replaced most of them with latches.

I live in Southern California... earthquake country. I wouldn't use this on cabinets that need to be held closed in an earthquake, only things line linen closets and such.
