Watson excelente clase sobre los magnetos ,como me gustaria trabajar en un taller de motores a pistón para aprender y hacer las practicas, está si es pura aviación

Short and down to the point. Well done, Sir!

Many of us are working on homebuilt/experimental aircraft, so we are perfectly legal installing and timing mags, without an airframe and powerplant rating.

Very interesting and informative video. I notice it's using the Tempest brand oil filter, which Champion Aerospace recommends against.

Why?
@kellygreene34023 жыл бұрын
Tempest competes with Champion so of course Champion Aerospace recommends against its use... Like Dah.

So the TDC mark aligns with the TOP case split? Other instructions say the little hole on the starter?
@garyvanremortel52183 жыл бұрын
Same.
@Stratocruizer513 жыл бұрын
In the video he stated and is showing the 25 degree alignment mark on the rear of the starter ring aligned with the split in the top of the crankcase. There is also a 25 degree mark on the front of the ring gear that aligns with the hole in the starter. So, there are two ways to align the gear to 25 degrees BTDC as stated in the Piper manual.

Thanks! This is the video my professor recommended to us. But I notice something on 3:36 you said right hand side, but you point the left side of the engine... ?? I'm just curious
@G4Disco3 жыл бұрын
In this case imagine the aircraft is on it's nose. That cylinder he pointed to is on the right or co-pilot side if you are sitting in the seat.

@@G4Disco ohh. Alright, got it. Did not thought of that, maybe I was slow at that moment hahaha thanks!!

Right left side cylinder is confusing to amateurs. Number 1 cylinder is farthest forward on Lycoming, farthest rear in continental. TIO-541- Lycoming number one is on the left from the rear.

I have a feeling if automobiles had to be maintained as rigorously as aircraft, there would be fewer on the roads

I have had more problems with the guys that have there A and P doing work then when I do my own. The A and P boys cannot be held accountable for there work. So I do my own.

Greg Plaka if you’re not a properly certificated mechanic doing the work that’s illegal
@TheAow43214 жыл бұрын
Im an A&P.. we can face jail time for improper work, thats pretty accountable
@drgreene10134 жыл бұрын
TheAow4321 truthfully the likelihood of jail time is extremely slim unless it can be proven something was done intentionally
@TheAow43214 жыл бұрын
dgreene1013 just saying, the risk is there. My certs can also be revoked(more likely)
