Alternatively there are a plethora of magsafe cases for Samsung and Pixel (and possibly other) Android phones so there is no need to add it manually to the outside of a case.

Quite true. It really depends what your needs are. I wanted a forged carbon fiber case and I haven't found a good one with the MagSafe built-in. So this pairs well if you have a particular case you want but it doesn't come with MagSafe. Plus, some may not want a case so attaching the ring on the phone directly can work for them.

@@FrakkingCreationsexactly what I needed. The s24 sold out of a particular case I wanted for the MagSafe version, opted to get a sticker with the standard version for the various attachments it enables, like grips, charging stability and phone holders.

It is the magnet ones that hold better. Don't get ones that are metal rings or say magnetic. Magnetic can mean metal. The magnet ones will self align properly. The metal ones still require you to make sure it is exactly aligned.
