Has anybody caught viruses from downloading these files over time? The frameworksetup file got blocked because it was supposedly unsecure because it was read or edited? Not too keen on the terms here but some advice or responses would help.

Make sure to always be careful when downloading files. If you're uncertain if the site is trustful, don't download from that site. It's safe most of the time though and just because something gets blocked doesn't mean that it contains a virus. Windows 10 and 11 tries to control everything!!! 🤔

No! You only install .sims3pack files through the launcher. Packages go to Mods/Packages and they just load as long as you have the correct Resource.cfg file :)

Your game files will be in whatever launcher you installed sims under, ex. Steam, origin, etc. A tip to finding some of them is by going to your game on your launder, and clicking on the 3 dots, in the drop down menu select properties, and from there you should be able to find a section that lets you open where sims is installed

Make sure you're looking in the right spot. There are two Sims 3 folders. Only one of them has a Downloads folder. Here's where mine is: C->Users->(your username)->Documents->Electronic Arts->The Sims 3
