IMPORTANT THING ABOUT THE SMOOTH PATCH! I say in the video that you need to run The Sims 3 through the patched launcher that comes with the Smooth Patch - that's only true for the EA App version! The Steam/Disc version of the patch doesn't come with this launcher and you can run the game the same way you did before installing the smooth patch!

OH MY GOSH!!! You literally fixed my game! I just got a new pc setup and I was really looking forward to playing the game on a highend desktop, but the game just wouldn't launch. Note (EA Version): If you buy and install a new expansion, you might have to repeat step 1 (GPU) and 2 (12Gen CPU) in order to get the game running again.

This helped a lot! Also the no intro mod cut down start up time from 40 minutes to 10 seconds (it was something I installed a week later than the rest and it makes a huge difference). There are a few other things mostly required to run Sims 3 like the launcher and game upon launching must have the set affinity of one CPU. Once on the main menu; you can change the game's affinity once it has loaded fully. I do find it amusing that Spore which is slightly older does not require this much but Sims 3 does.

I don't think The Sims Medieval has serious issues, only the Intel CPU patch is needed if you're an affected player!

The launcher appears but when I try to launch with the "blue play button", it comes back to EA App with the following message : "the game is already running" ... and nothing happen. Since i downloaded EA, the sims 3 doesnt work for me anymore, so i figured it was because of the GPU. Is EA the reason that i don't have this folder? Everytime i open the game and start playing, the screen turns white after a few minutes and something about the graphics glitches. I am playing on a MacBook Pro and I already fixed the issue with the graphic card so that my game recognizes it. I already asked in the AnswerHQ forum but they only replied that I should update the graphic card driver but there is no update I can do since I am playing on Mac and there is no system update available either. Has anyone this issue too?

If you use Smooth Patch, you should turn on borderless mode in the config file :) if you don't, look for a free program called Borderless Gaming!

I tried the Patch for the CPU but I get something in the lines of ''Failed to patch executable'' It says it doesn't have access to the file and cannot patch it as it is used by another process but all The Sims 3 processes have been shut down, I even restarted my PC.

It will definitely run. I can't tell you what the performance will be, but since you already have all the packs, I think the easiest way to check is to just install them all and play test.

I did the adding of GPU, limited fps, had mod folder and nraas mods ready, installed smooth patch (said the exe file was a trojan) but still when I press play in the sims 3 launcher I get a mostly black screen (white line at the bottom) and another window saying ''Failed to start the game. Service failed to initialize (0x065d0274)'' and then when I press ok or close, it goes back to EA app. I used to play ts3 on my laptop (never had any problems) but now I'm trying to play on my brand new pc and this happens. Is there something I can do?

Nevermind, I found a fix. I had to go to "Documents" Open "Electronic Arts" and name my "The Sims 3" to "Old The Sims 3"

Yes, all the packs go to EA App anyway! So you can buy other packs via EA App and they will work together :)

I think faster loading screen when entering loading save, but i see this video, turns out use mod no Maxis opening that i not use that mod because i can skip it use press Windows button & restore up (3 times) then click or press any button when demo Sims 3 then show opening loading without use mod No Maxis opening. Really helpful video, the game seems to be odd after installing the smoothpatch for me tho, darkened mood bad and scrolling away is much slower. I assume it's not what's meant to be happening

I am not sure why this is happening in your case, but it may be that your PC is too slow to run the patch at its default value. You can try to adjust how much the Smooth Patch tries to speed up your game. Open the TS3Patch.txt file and look for the TPS section. It should say 500. The unmodded value is 30, so you can change 500 to 30, save the file, and run the game to see if it works as if there was no patch. If it does, you should increase the number to 60 and test it again. You can keep increasing the number until you find the sweet spot :)

It finished downloading and I tried to open the game right away, but it didn't open. When I click on the three dots, where we can repair the game, the buy option appears.
