If you care for links there are a couple in the description for both the title and grout used. Thanks!

U know what, certainly giving you a sub after this vid! I took on a backsplash job, it turns out its herringbone like this! I was intimidated b/c ive only used stack and stagger methods straight across, so i was worried! This vid gives me confidence ill be just fine this weekend! 🙏 thank you. Ill be checking out ur other vids next

Nice work. You’ve convinced me to do some upgrades!! Should I caulk the cracks where the counter meets the stove?
@-DIYPRO-3 жыл бұрын
I didn't but I guess you can if you want. You'll just have to remember that if you need to pull the stove out in the future.

Can you explain how to get the corners to line up? We're having issues with our small herringbone mosaic tile on a shower wall.
@-DIYPRO-3 жыл бұрын
How far off are they? Are you using individual tiles or a mosaic square like in the video? I may not be much help since I haven't' done a shower yet but maybe someone else will chime in.
@victorvek52272 жыл бұрын
Do you apply anything special to the Sheetrock prior to the thin-set? Like a sealer of sorts? Or do you just thin-set right over the paint?
@-DIYPRO-2 жыл бұрын
I didn't add anything. Since this is a backsplash it will see very little water.

Great job! What did you use on the bottom level for spacers? I didn't see any wedge spacers?
@-DIYPRO-3 жыл бұрын
I used the same 1/8 spacers as used between the tiles.

Did you ever clear seal it afterward to get rid of the extra grout on the tile surface and make it extra shiny? And recommendations?
@-DIYPRO-3 жыл бұрын
I did not seal mine but I'd assume any tile sealer would work.
@ellencarroll53252 жыл бұрын
how did you get the outlets cut out. Did you have to replace tiles after cutting out the outlet? Also, did you put on a sealer between setting the tile and the grout?
@-DIYPRO-2 жыл бұрын
Outlets were a pain, some lined up with the edge of a tile but most were cut out and shaped with snips then hand placed.

Did the little pieces on the bottom of the sheets break off when you cut with your tile saw? I noticed you putting them in after you put up the big piece.
@-DIYPRO-3 жыл бұрын
Yes any of the small pieces would just fall off when cut and yes it was pain to fill the gaps.
@David-dw2iq3 жыл бұрын
@@-DIYPRO- Gotcha, so you would remove the small pieces and cut them separately/individually? I ran into this issue yesterday and trying to figure out the most efficient way to complete the job.
@autumn_wol_f3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing this. We are going to do the same herringbone style in a bathroom, so this is very helpful. One question, did you use grout caulk along the bottom edge and in the corners or did you just push some regular grout in with your fingers? Thanks
@-DIYPRO-3 жыл бұрын
I did both. I filled most of the seam with grout and then I went back.....after the video and put a bead of silicone.
@6855mike3 жыл бұрын
Great job, I'm doing the EXACT same job, same tile. Your video is giving me confidence. What size trowel did you use? I've been told 3/16", but yours looks bigger. Did you caulk between the counter and the bottom row of backsplash?
@-DIYPRO-3 жыл бұрын
It was 3/16". I did do a bead of caulk between the counter and bottom. (I did it after i'd posted the video so it wasn't in there.
@jimmychafins3 жыл бұрын
Did you cut the bottom row straight across the bottom?
@-DIYPRO-3 жыл бұрын
I did, should have showed a better picture of that but yes I cut little triangles off the bottom.

Asking about just the backsplash or the entire kitchen? Backsplash was a couple weekends. The kitchen was an addition that if you watch this video you can see the entire process: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZ-0m52ggKZ8la8
