I like using headless bolts for disassembly because everything stays in the correct order. Without them, when you remove the bolts, things can go everywhere before you got a chance to see what the correct order was. I DID agree with him on reassembly for the reasons stated. I've tried both. Using studs or headless bolts for reassembly, you try to hold everything together while removing them to insert the real bolts and you really can't see if any gaskets slipped or not. EDIT: I've found that if I install the bolt on the control plate / bracket and the short bolt on the air box (not on all models) fairly tight, they hold everything in place while I swap out the temporary studs for the actual bolts.

I HAVE THIS same carburetor on an older Honda 6.5 HP lawn mower engine. YOU, sir, are the best in explaining the gasket deformity problems, cable/throttle linkage, reassembly sequence. (got this mower for free from a past owner... many botched repair changes in reassembly ! ) I have watched 10 KZbin videos by true idiot amateurs. YOURS is ... good, steady, clear camera, good explanation, good ENGLISH amigo !! I am an excellent car mechanic, but couldn't handle the one cylinder Honda carb problems until I watched this!! Contact me for your questions on 16th century Spanish history? ha ha ha..... Trevor.

In the past I have been one of those who put in studs to place the gaskets in sequence … then remove the studs and replace with the bolts. This time I tried it your way. I agree with you it’s the best way to go and really isn’t that difficult. Thx for the video

With all the videos I have watched YOURS is far Superior to then all put together. Thanks a million. By the way I am missing one leg below the knee and I had a friend help put a new carb on. (I bought the woodsplitter used) Kind of a bitch for me and I explained to my friend it was installed the same way as i bought it and it is backwards. He tried explaining something he does not know and I asked another guy and I was found to be correct. Your video also proves this. BTW before adding dielectric you can clean them battery terminals with vinegar. Then add your dielectric. Again thanks

Yeah, mine is really running fine too. I made a complete overhaul (right word? 🤔) with tank cleaning, carb cleaning, draining the oil and washing the insides with iso propyl and a general clean up. It is mfg in 2004 and aprox running for 6 years at the former owner. Since I still wait for the new gaskets and I am a VERY impatient person, I reassembled it to give it a try and it ran perfectly. Very smooth idle and aggressive on the throttle. I adjusted the valve clearance as well and the new liquid gasket did work out fine too. It was the first time doing such things and I did not watch any videos beforehand except how to open and close the valve cover so I am a little proud. For the temporary testrun I used studs and nuts but for the final assembly later I go with Jeremy's way, I think. Greetings

It's nice to see someone that knows what he's doing working on a carb...just yanked a carb off to clean it and the lack of a gasket or 2 blew my mind. Good note on the atmospheric vent...my spacer was pretty clogged with debris. The float valve was also oddly not attached to the float. Not sure who had it cracked open last but....wow!

Thanks you had just hit nail , that is exactly what II was expecting to watch someone navigating me . On how to install back the carburetor on my . Two cycle Honda lawnmower . I made mistake the gasoline I put into the tank it was too old and had condensation so I had drained back out . But I was concerned about the gasoline inside the carburetor. Instead removing just the bolt under the cup under the carburetor I figured matter well remove the Teo long bolt’s behind the air filter cover 😩 the entire Carburetor to wash it with carburetor cleaner well . Surprise the whole carburetor collapsed I not had chance to see how was mounted special the washer spacers/ the wire and spring which control the gasoline to I’m idle so I installed back up I thought I did it right nor extra parts there after 👌😜 I put gasoline back in to the gas tank since I left completely emptied . There after I did try to give it start it didn’t ☹️ I walk away wondering what I did screw up I came after couple hours All my gasoline got drained on the floor . Now I know why .the gasket needs to be replaced. The I will worry about the springs to Idler the carburetor. I should left it alone and just remove the screw under the carburetor to finish drain cause I had the fuel lines already. Drained a lot gas with bubbles of water came out ( condensation ) 👎🏻😖

Man, something else how over the years the same part number carb has gone from what the diagrams show with more parts (adjustable and easier to clean out too) to the most simple design I've seen yet that looks like yours on a Ryobi GCV190 3100psi pressure washer with the idle down fun control. Even the gaskets have gotten to be less where is a whole gasket material air damn part to remove the two gaskets required on the metal older part and only one gasket on the air intake side. The first one of these GCV160's I cleaned the carb (found the air filter was the issue after blowing out and carb cleaning that thoroughly later) was just like the one you're doing other than that at least still had a drain plug bolt and gasket on the bowel. Something else. I got to the point you're at testing with the choke only and not running so good set on Run... so more carb work. I've yet to order a new carb and actually use since by the time they arrive I've got the og carb cleaned... though this Ryobi one has be wondering... ah... I don't use these enough or do for a living so... won't order just yet. Great video and detail as always! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you sir. Your tutorial was beneficial. I successfully installed a carburetor without any issues. One question however. After the engine started the water pressure on diminished. It sounded like the engine reved up and down the i lost water pressure. Released the sprayer and waited for build up then sprayed but kept losing pressure. Could you please tell me wha might be the problem?

So happy to find this video, but it was a little too late. I took apart my carb and cleaned it totally and when reinstalling it I had lost track of the gasket sequencing. I got it okay with the help of an exploded parts diagram. However I have a problem, hope you can give me a lead: I have to manually hold the chock when pulling the recoil string and hold it until a little warm. I will not stay pulled out by itself. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.thank you.

This posted at a great time, although I didn't see it earlier today. I'll tear apart my 10-20 yr old HRR216 mower again tomorrow. I ran out of patience earlier, but you gave me a new lease, since I believe when installing the gaskets, I may have got gasket grease in the air channel vents (leaking gas but with bowl removed the needle valve closes) I bought it used and has only needed minor maintenance for the last 5 yrs, that said, while tearing apart the carb I noticed it never had the airdam installed (but has run fine for yrs) I ordered one from Amazon. What is it's purpose

Bloody marvellous! I have this carb on an Eliet Primo shredder, second hand; looks hardly used but when I took apart the carb, one of the gaskets had slipped down (one of the bolts obviously not put through the hole!!!) blocking the full opening of the choke butterfly! Also there were what I can only describe as insect cocoons made of mud inside the carb. Couldn't get the emulsion tube out even after 20 mins in a sonic bath of water, vinegar and washing up liquid at 55°C. Now I can't find the gasket set. Two of the gaskets on mine seem to be a rubber-metal-rubber sandwich. And I don't have the metal heat deflector. Could you give links for where to buy them p!ease? Then I can put your video into practice!! (On taking off and replacing the carb a few times I've decided to use the screw-in for method you don't approve of: I think it's too easy to let one side of the gasket slip down and bugger up the full opening of the choke). Hope someone can help. Thanks in advance!
