Very steady hands! I tried this initially and it was much harder than I originally thought so I had to watch this video and get extra tips. The idea to hold down the date dial guard with a wooden peg/toothpick at the same time was key! Excellent video - well done!

Thanks for that, just swapped out a 4R36 for a NH36, swapped the rotors around and the calendar wheels, all went smoothly. Thanks for sharing!

you do realise the nh36 and 4r36 are the exact same movement right

Thanks for the very detailed and relaxed explanation..!! I faced a problem, where the date quickest switch gear is not engaging properly with the date wheel and is not able to move it. The date wheel moves when time crosses 12am, but quicket fails. Is it some issue between the day and date switch gears? Please advise.

Looks like at 4:10 you were quick setting the date in the danger zone, just a bit after 12 AM (00:00), because the date wheel teeth were hitting the black plastic gear in the top left corner. Am I right ?

You say there are different day wheels for 3:00 and 4:00 crowns. Is this also true for the date wheel?

the alignment is not proper looking for day wheel ( TUE 21). its slightly downward tilted. even in my seiko 5 old model its tilted is it normal ?

I can’t get the quick set working on my nh36. I had disassembled many times and can’t get it working.. the day and date changes while rotating the time 24hrs but not quick set. It’s a newer movement too. Anyone have any suggestions besides replacing it?

@@kostrab56 I bought a new movement. I have had this happen on several NH36 movements, I think it’s a lousy mod to the nh35 to add a date wheel. I won’t be using them anymore moving forward
