Man I really appreciate this great tutorial. I needed to change my date wheel. At the middle of the process the movement fell down and some tiny gears pop off. I thought it was the end and came to panic. I took a deep breath and went back and forth several times your vid till I could figure out where those gears fitted in. After a lot of fails and thrill I saw the light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you so much. I’ve got a “life hack” that I learned on my first attempt. You just yank the disk out like a gorilla....then take off the plate you bent, bend it back to the best of your abilities, and reattach said damaged plate. Great video man, I hope no one EVER listens to me!

You can also remove the ghost position by changing out the setting lever (or physically modifying the setting lever with a snip).

Yeh i did think that but I wouldn't know where to snip it. Well i did try probably could figure it out if you really wanted to go dateless without getting an nh38

Here’s a hack for removing bezel inserts without removing the bezel. Just get a small bowl put watch face down and fill with zippo style lighter fluid and soak the bezel for about 10 minutes it falls right off then clean up the old adhesive and then put your new insert on. I have kept o rings in there 2 weeks with no signs of damage also your just getting the bezel wet to the insert. Way safer than popping off a bezel on something that will be a headache. But it’s 5 minutes and works every time.

Great video - I have a quick question - if I'm harvesting just the day/date wheel for spares as the movement is going into a no date build - can I leave the date jumper plate etc in place & just screw the top plate back on when I've removed the day wheel? Your help would be much appreciated

Great video , I done everything following the video , or I think so , in the end the wheel is moving and changing the date but the crown is stuck on day position , doesn't mov inside or outside , any idea what I did wrong ? Nh35 Thanks 🙏

FYI those mats usually have strong magnets in them - not good for hairsprings

Thanks for posting this. I want to build a really simple watch with no day or date function. It's a strange that to build a simple watch with no complaints is more complicated than with the complications. 😂 I would like to remove the ghost position, is it as simple as just swapping out the NH36 setting lever for a NH38 setting lever? Thank you for this detailed video. But instead of removing the day disc, can't we just put the NH36 movement under an NH35 dial (with simple date window)? The day of the week will be hidden, but it does not matter or?

You could if you wanted to but it will still click if you rotate the crown, with the removal of the disc there will be no audible click

Not the jumper but the plates, yes. It stops other little cogs falling out

First of all thanks for the great video. Now a question. I tried doing it myself, and crown is now stuck in second position (only can change hour) cant push the crown to 1st or winding position. What did I mess up? Thanks!

Erm i can honestly say i dont know what you've messed up, never come across this myself. Try removing the crown but it needs to go into winding position to do this

I fixed it. The problem was that clutch fallen off its spring. (If i name it correctly). Very helpful video, again :)

In order to put an NH36 into a watch that only has an NH35 currently and only has the date function do you have to remove the day wheel?

Yes, if you just want a straight swap i.e. the current nh35 isnt working. You can remove the day wheel and swap. You cannot add a day wheel to an nh35 though
