With precision setting the pitch I have a upcoming project on existing granite treads & will be adding on 3/4” flagstone cap to cover the treads & risers, after 37 years the treads have shifted to the left 5”, what would you recommend to stop the shifting insertion of pins or use a strong adhesive?

🙏fantastic work. The level of confidence and skill you showed from the beginning of demo, without rushing through or signs of haughtiness, is very commendable. A good example for showing how to combine both smart and hard work. Perhaps the music could have been totally absent or something softer as it was distracting and drowning out some valuable tips coming from you. Wish you both the very best in life.

Honestly...TERRIBLE JOB. 1. You used rectangle tiles from the steps to the front door. Then square tiles for the remainder. Why?! Keep the look consistent with same size tiles throughout! Now you got an inconsistent look! That alone would drive me nuts 2. Your not troweling the thinset onto the concrete base! For that size tile youre supposed to TROWEL the thinset using a 1/2" notch trowel. Instead, you just slapped the thinset onto the floor, did a weird "S" into it then put on the tile. 3. You didnt backbutter the tile before installing it onto the thinsetted base. Your lack of doing 2 and 3 does NOT ensure proper adhesion and stability. This WILL fail. You also could have used polymeric sand for the joints, but while that wouldn't be necessary it still wouldve been ideal...and MUCH faster. Fellas, as "pros" you gotta be better than this! What I outlined here are the mere basics of tile setting!
