New subscriber here. Duuuuude!! Thank you for this video. It's amazing how easy this is. Well, relatively easy. I'd rather do this myself, rather than paying an exorbitant amount to have someone else do it. So, again, thankyou.

One thing: On the radio, in settings -> Brakes -> Brake Service Mode will retract the brakes all the way, so you may not need the c-clamp. Great feature. Also, when you said while taking the torx bolts off to take your time that was really something I needed to hear, Thanks haha.

That set screw or rotor retaining screw came off nice for you, but they are usually the hardest part of the whole job. I know mine are seized and have to be drilled out...I don't know if they really need to be replaced as they are only for assembly purpose. In regards to the latter, the lug bolts can be used to line up your rotor then taken out and the tire put on...Once on, your rotor is held in place by the lug bolts...There are a slew of videos here, (You Tube), showing the problems encountered with these seized screws and the various methods to get them out....And by the way, that allen key size for that screw is 5mm and would be best used with a socket drive after perhaps knocking it head-on to loosen up the rust and cracking the corrosive seal....Enjoyed your vid, clear and concise.. Thank you for taking the time.

Is the socket you used to remove the bolt that holds the bracket a common one? The top looks like a star shape. Thanks

They are star shape. You can use a 12pt common socket, but be gentle with it. That’s what I did to hold me over until I’m able to get new sockets.

Why not lightly anti seize the back of the rotor mounting surface and that rotor hold down Allen screw? Also should of sprayed cleaned both sides of the rotor while it’s off, clean the caliper bracket with a wire brush before installing the new hardware, lubricate the caliper glide bushing pins and brake pad slide ears. Also using anti squeal Incase of pad noise. Lots of components need lube or early caliper or pad failure can be expected. Especially with high mile cars. Just sharing what I do. God bless!

It didn’t effect mine at all. All your doing is pushing the brake fluid back up the lines.
@adampollock23855 жыл бұрын

This video was awesome you're so helpful thank you so much I do have a question I followed every instruction you gave us and the brake seem to be working really well but they're making a weird noise or something is making a weird noise when I'm driving it almost sounds like a flat tire or something but it's only at a certain speed I don't really hear it I like 20 miles an hour I hear it at 5 miles an hour could I have put something on wrong or loose or have you ever experienced this?
@WickedFabz5 жыл бұрын
I was getting brake noise after driving it for awhile. I took the tires off and cleaned everything again. The noise hasn’t come back. As far as yours being a flat tire noise idk brake usually make a squeal or rubbing noise. Check tire pressure and clean the breaks again. It’s a good starting point. Let me know how you make out with it.

omg,i watched this because i need to do the brakes on my wifes fiat 500x(the same brakes). i watched for only 1 piece of info, the caliper bolts, to see if i needed any special sockets, which wasn't even clear(16mm external torx????????) and 14mm hex??? . #1 spray and WIPE the disc ON BOTH SIDES before you put it on,you missed half behind the guard and also spraying directing on the pads is stupid. #2 before you put the disc on ,bolt the caliper back onto the hub fingertight makes it a hell of alot easier then balancing it on top of the disc. #3 no copper grease on back/ears of the pads? and not re-greasing the guide pins?? #4 the 16mm caliper bolts are stretch bolts!! you should not reuse them! #5 "just hand tighten the bolts" WTD dude,there are proper torques for those VERY IMPORTANT bolts,especially the guide pin bolts, this is just sloppy work and possibly dangerous
@WickedFabz6 жыл бұрын
Maybe watch the vid again. Hand tightened until I get the rest in place. Did you miss the part where I tighten them. The vid was used as a guide to let others know what they are getting into.Thanks for the comment!
