I have same issue. Did you have to get the shutter programmed out so the light module was not looking for it and thinking it was not functioning because these don’t have that function? I believe they use the other bulbs as stated in the video as the high beam.

The tails have never given me any problems at all. I def think its worth the upgrade for sure!!! The headlights on the other hand were a bit of a headache and they recently had a pretty big issue. Video coming soon on all of that because im going to try and fix them. The tails have been in ever since that video got published only took them out to install the diffuser when I took the rear bumper off.

Thats correct the adaptive lights no longer work and will need to be coded to get rid of the dash light. The high beam bulbs are h1s i believe but ill have to double check that.

Please would you let me know how you remove the leveling motor inside your old headlights? Aside from the philips screws, the end of the part is attached to something else inside and I'm scared to force pull it in case I damage the motor

Yeah it is a little tricky to get that part out. There is a little balljoint in there and the way I got them out was to push the light so that the ball joint will slide towards the bottom of the connector piece. Basically make it so the light would be beaming towards the floor. Then you do have to apply a bit of pressure to get the ball to pop from the socket. That part did take me a little bit to do and when you install them into the new housing it's just as hard. Be patient with it though.

Sorry I got back to you so late fam but the aa ignition ballast you're going to need is GWA 312, replacement part for 1 307 329 153, 1 307 329 193. They are like 50 to 60 bucks and much less headache then sending them back and having to wait for replacements. The ballast is available on Amazon.

The bulbs are h1 bulbs for the high beams. Check the actual connection on the back of the bulb. The one that was not working in my video was actually not plugged in correctly. It's the bulb behind the rubber circle not the one behind the screw on door.

Yeah I have the same issue with mine. The only way to clear the error (that I know of) is to code the car to not have adaptive lights at all. I'm not 100% sure if that will even clear it but I'm looking into trying that on mine. Sorry I dont have much info yet but I'm working on it.

Just order new headlights from CarID that promise to be compatible with the cornering adaptive light. They are also made by Syder and are siad to eliminate the code for the missing second motor. They are for tts with the AFS option. They are coming directly from Spyder and I should have them be the end of next week. I willl update you if it works out of the box.

Well the 2006 audi tt is the 8n not the 8j. I dont know if they released a 06 8j here in the states. I think the first year we got the mk2 here was 07? You may want to make sure you're looking at the right parts I wouldn't want you to order these and they dont fit that would suck!!! My TT is a 08. Also make sure that you get the correct set as they make 2 different headlights ones for the HID and one for the halogen set up.

Yeah make sure you have the proper ballasts before trying to install them. My stock ballast didnt transfer over. Also be prepared to lose the adaptive lighting function which will give you an error light. You can code it out later. Also be prepared to fight with transferring the adaptive light motors over to the new lights as it can be a bit of a struggle. Check all of the wire connectors and make sure they are all proper before installing. You can see all these issues on the video. Your high beams will give you issues as well. I think that about everything to look out for. The crappy wiring inside of these lights have caised mone to melt so im in the process of fixing them and making a video about the whole process. Good luck with these things hahaha

Yeah many ppl have run into issues of the high beams turning off after having them on for about a minute or so. I dont usually use mine but that is a common issue with these headlights unfortunately.

Mega4k Vlogz ya mine comes on for few seconds and then shut off and after shutting off i get a message left and right bulb out on the dash. Also the hid bulb and the halogen bulb both comes on when the high beam turned on.

These two issues would negate the otherwise cool look of LED strips and sequential turn signals. And the manufacturer knows this and still sells them like that!!! Edit: I just installed (10/20/19) the new Skyper assembly with old high beam bulb; the whole assembly looks fantastic and the high beam works perfectly. Only problem is error code on dash---trying to code it away....

Thanks!!! I appreciate the support!!! I would say they are about the same but they do seem to cut off a little lower than the stock HID's. You also lose the adaptive lighting function. The high beams are now 4 bulbs instead of the HID doing both functions alone so the high beams are super bright. As you can see in the video they give you an adaptive light warning which can be removed in coding. I am pleased with them and I love the look. Hopefully your install will be smoother than mine hahaha I hope this helps you out. Any other questions feel free to ask fam!!! 😎

The ballast you are looking for is OEM# 307 329 153 GWA312. If you do a search for it you can find them on amazon for around $50. I got mine from AA ignition. As for the plug do you mean the one for the ballast or are you talking about the plug from the car to the headlights? If its from the car to the headlights you may have gotten the HID headlights instead of the halogen version. When buying these lights you have to go with the same version as the stock headlights on the car otherwise you will need additional wiring and possibly coding for the HIDs to work properly.

It worked! Remove the halogen bulb that comes with it behind the rubber grommet. High beams are in the hid bulbs. No more high beams out error message

I got mine from Amazon but you can buy directly from the manufacturer. Spyder is the name of the company. They make 2 different models one for halogen bulbs and one for HIDs. Make sure you pick up the right set that you need.

Yeah was a bit of a pain but definitely changes the look having the housing all black. Plus the DRLs are 🔥🔥🔥 i happened to get a little sick so my update video got pushed back a little but i have a bunch of helpful info coming soon. I did have to repair them myself just a heads up. I'd say the hardest part was transferring the motors over from the stock headlights just to find out that they dont work the way they are supposed to. A little frustrating for the 08 but i heard of other TTs having way less issues. Keep it locked for that update video 😎

Spyder is the namebrand. They sell them on their website both for the HID setup as well as the halogen setup. You can also find them on Amazon as well. Thanks for checking out the video and I hope you'll join the fam!!! 😁😎

Do you have stock HIDs or halogens? Spyder is the manufacturer and from their site you can choose between the 2 options. Make sure you get the ones that support your stock setup as I dont believe they work interchangeably. Hope this helps you out if you dont want to buy them straight from spyder I will dig in my Amazon history and try and find them for you.

So all this happen because you ordered XENON headlights and ur Audi tt. Did not had XEnON. Factory .. u had halogen factory.. so people who watch this video.. they do sale the halogen factory ones separate

Lol I had xenon headlights as my stocks. I did let everyone know about the different versions and to make sure they stuck with what they had stock. I ran into the issues I had manly because the ballasts they use for those headlights are a newer model from the ones that came in the 2008 tt. If you have a newer tt you shouldn't have the ballast problem along with some of the other issues.

I do like these headlights and you do not lose the bi xenon. It adds an additional high beam. The only function you lose from the stock headlights is the adaptive lighting function (the movement of the headlight while turning) I did have a few issues with the install as you can see in the video but in all I feel it updates the look of the car at night and they also look good in the daytime with the black housing inside. I've heard of other people not having to change the ballasts either. I'm assuming they have a later model that came with the correct ballasts. As for the code I had one of the Omegas tell me a way to get rid of the adaptive light error however I have not tried it yet. He has shown me videos of his on and working without the error code so his coding worked for him. I hope this helps you out a bit. Thanks for checking out the channel it's greatly appreciated!!! 😎😎😎
